Lovely card at Newmarket and unless the ‘reincarnation of Pegasus’ describes one of the unraced fillies in division 1 of the 7f maiden (4.45) then I’d expect RHOSSILI DOWN to open her account at the 2nd attempt. The old girl was an excellent, and I do mean excellent, 3rd in a conditions race, on debut, at Newbury last month (the winner Fashions Star could be a superstar incidentally) and a reproduction of that should make this daughter of Kingman very, and I do mean very, hard to beat of the morrow. The far, far more experienced horses, with perches, who finished around her, at Newbury, are rated 88 (Posted who the selection beat 3 lengths), 87 (Roxy Art who beat Rhossili Dawn 0.75 lengths) and 82 (Ice Gala who the selection beat a neck) so the form looks most solid and granted normal improvement you can expect Rhossili Down, who debuted that day don’t forget, to in time be rated far in advance of these marks.

Meanwhile, after an in and out campaign the stable are in better form with 2 out of their last 5 runners, at the time of writing, winning (both at 10/1 incidentally). And Barrington’s boy also had 2 runners at Paris Longchamp, on Sunday, beaten less than a length at Group 1 level.

    Recommended, team.

    Good luck all.

Nice bumper at Newton Abbot too - we await the Bumper King's assessment.

The intermediate chase at 2.15 looks pretty goir for a Friday afternoon good to see Benetar out this early- he will surely be expected to beat this lot and I’m sure Gary will hope he is the horse to bring G1 glory again and be the stable star

I don’t know if anyone has noticed this but you may want to have a look. Iniesta (Found’s full brother) has been given an entry on the Flat next Wednesday at Bath (only ever run for them in the NH sphere). Something I’ve been hoping his barn would do for months!

Found’s full brother running on the level off 67 – Found incidentally was a 123 performer and the dam (of both Found and Iniesta) a 115 rated mare. Is this too good to be true, team?!?

Semmelknödel (a German dumpling) with a mushroom sauce, croquette potatoes and sprouts, glass of orange juice. 8/10.

Thank you, old boy. My forelock has been tugged as ardently as recommended in those ‘books of etiquette’.

I wonder if Lieutenant Henderson got invited??? Anyone know???

But on to the main issue of the day - Crispy Salmon with a noodle salad. 8/10.

"Persian War" festival weekend at Chepstow chaps <ok>

Cliffs of Dover not running in the Silver Trophy, I guess that means Nicholls is not happy with him? Ground to suit, nice prep on the flat but off his current mark of 1400 he would have had 11-08. Perhaps the Ditcheat meastro felt that might be a bit much for him on seasonal debut?

I like the look of beggars wishes in that, likes soft and was eased down a long way out last time.

    Could take all the beating.

I've backed both on several occasions and to be honest when I looked today found it hard to choose between them. My logic is that D'Bai could potentially still be improving whilst Limato has peaked and at the prices D'Bai offers much better value

The western part of the Isle has been absolutely deluged with rain so far today and there are weather warnings from now up until the end of tomorrow so I would imagine it is going to be very testing at Chepstow tomorrow and Sunday – certainly not the ‘good’ that is currently forecasted on ‘Sporting Life’.

Can’t wait to see Pym debut in the meeting commencer (1.55 of the morrow).
