I gather Castro’s of a generation (or so) before my start date but he’s on point with Julie C. Pictures of Lily etc
If I remember correctly, the members of the Tigers Co-op decided how to spend their own money by way of a vote - that is to say members money, not fans money. Didn't agree with it personally but that's democracy - the exact opposite of what you argue.
Okay .. I've held my peace on this one.. but here's my two penneth for what its worth. Duffers when last here was a wide boy who got caught up in the whole celebrity status of it all .. same as Phil Brown. He creamed funds off (not sure the full details) but resulted in him paying money back to the Allams in an out of court settlement. I also recall hearing about the ridiculous amount he spent of the clubs funds to refit the chairmans office out .. akin to billy big bollox. The club needs a massive investment.. its quite clear and obvious this is needed. The stadium is in need of some tlc .. the squad needs it more then ever .. and a manager that can get the best out of what he has is a must. If .. and i say if .. the Duffen bid is funded by Saudi millions .. it wouldn't be ideal .. but would certainly be what the club needs right now. As others posted .. the Saudis are canny with their dosh.. and i dont think Duffen would be given the wriggle space he had previously. As for the supporter funded project .. its got to be said no matter how lovely it would be to see it .. how the hell would they be able to continue to bank roll the club .. invest where needed.. and move us forward .. when they are still getting the funds tigether to back the offer. Given the Allams hatred of the City fans i cant even see them going to the table with that anyway (cutting off the nose to spite the face comes to mind). Obviously with no details of the third bid we dont know who what or how heavy the backers and bidders spending power is likely to be. For me .. i can inly hope that Sir Adam has some connection with it. He knows the club, the supporters and for me is the only one i would trust while at the helm. Call me an old romantic .. but i do feel at least with him he cared .. not for the ego it produced .. not to swell his bollox .. perhaps to swell his own pockets to an extent .. but the guy at least engaged with the true heart of the club .. namely the supporters while not syphoning funds into an overseas bank account unbeknown to the backers. No doubt twt .. but at this stage the way the Allams have left me feeling about MY club .. anything would be an improvement
Pearson running things could be acceptable but he should sell his Hull FC to the new owners or someone else to avoid potential conflicts of interest that might arise over fixture scheduling and stadium management.
Don't think there would be any conflicts over fixture scheduling. There is an arrangement where City, I think, take precedence at the end of our season and FC at the end of theirs.
Julie Christie would do for me. Don’t Look Back with Donald ‘Hatchett Face’ Sutherland is an absolute classic.
I see it in the opposite way. If it were AP, then he should keep his involvement with both and look to exploit the potential synergies to benefit both clubs (and supporters, and the city). Probably irrelevant anyway.
It's not really supporter funded, there'd just be a crowdfunded contribution, which would give the Trust a small involvement in the running of the club. They would fund nothing ongoing, it would still take major investors coming up with most of the cash, the same as any other bid.
Lets be honest, we know extremely little about all 3 bids. All we can hope is that whoever buys the club does so with good intentions and starts to put things in place, as they should be. Either way, im just happy the Allams are finally and forever ****ing off.
He could actually merge the two clubs that way Danny Houghton could play for city as we’re desperate for a strong tackling midfielder
