Gary Nev is ****ing fuming at the club, and quite rightly so in my opinion. The last 5 years have been a total farce, we need some competent football men in the upper echelons who will get people better than Woodward in and back the (any) manager instead of trying to tell him what he needs.
If they go after Poch the fireworks will be well worth watching, Levy and the Spuds Vs Woodward and the Mancs.
Time, it's a word the Man U owners/and Woodward aren't prepared to understand, a few seasons out of the top 4 to rebuild and bring youth through the ranks as opposed to a change of boss every two or three years and millions wasted in transfers and wages in a desperate bid for instant success.
The old Man U gave Fergie plenty of time, and look what happened. You'd think the current owners would be aware of their history. Mind you, there'd be no point in giving any more time to José.
Spurs would claim he's been tapped up, the Mancs would deny it the FA and lawyers involved, both clubs watching us, City and Chelsea ride off into the sunset.
Tbf the old Utd were skint, Edwards was desperate to sell the club and couldn't match us or Arsenal in the transfer market, one of Fergie's favourite whinges when he took over at OT was that LFC were buying league titles. Utd had to stick with Fergie and a combination of the dawn of the premier league and the class of 92 with a sprinkling of big signings saw them become the powerhouse they did. But like you said, Fergie by hook or by crook got lots of time.
Poch would be an easy target, he showed his true colours at Southampton as soon as a bigger club came calling. Levy is just a plank mate, do you read any of the Spurs threads (the new stadium one is classic), they all go on about people being/getting Levy'd yet fail to see the only ones it applies to are them and their club. He sells the best players as soon as a decent offer comes in, fails to provide the manager with funds to strengthen in a very important window and lets them down with reasonable alternative places to play "home" games. The new stadium thread is classic (great thread by the way, I really enjoy the video diary of the build), for twelve months it was all "Levy will sue the hacks for saying it will go over budget, Levy will sue hacks for saying it will not be finished on time" now it's well over budget and months behind time it's all "well on a massive project like this it's only to be expected".
Yeah but the Glazers need a yes-man who will turn a blind eye to them taking £1b+ out of the club and yet the club somehow still has £0.5b of debt Any other business this would be #fraud that gets you life in jail
Yeah, I know all about the Spuds and their delusion and one eyed view of the outside world, and yeah you're right about Poch.
Money is **** all to United mate, as long as the funds are there for players and ground improvements when needed the Glazers can take what they want out, it's their business after all and that is what they are in it for.
Imagine if they had lost patience with him after 3 years, I wonder how different the PL might have looked? Of course there were other factors that came into play, a lot of serendipity to start them off, but there's no doubt in my mind his strength of will kept them going for as long as they did.
Carrick is in charge until they sort out a deal for Zidane who is no doubt demanding a guarantee of £750m for players
**** knows, he keeps getting mentioned but only because he is free. I haven't seen anything suggesting he might be interested in us or vice versa. If Jose is toast then I really don't know who I would like to replace him but the guy with the eye (Ancelotti) would be fairly safe hands and plays decent football.
