Until that game the record crowd at Elland Road was 54,000 for a rugby league game between Leeds and .Hunslet. 58,000 isn't that good for a city the size of Leeds. Huddersfield's top crowd is 10,000 more and Wednesday's 15,000 more. Bolton's is more. I was there for a Fairs Cup Final. Massive 25,000. Both Dundee and Dundee United had higher crowds for their home legs than Leeds did.
To be fair me questioning your number of mates was a cheap shot, and just tongue in cheek. I do believe you have some friends who, like you, aren’t inadequate glory hunting bellends. Unless of course those Hull City fans your talking about are young ones who were born in Leeds but chose to support Hull City during the many recent years when we were more successful than you. If they are then they’re just as bad as the three clowns you travel to Leeds matches with.
That was the game where the wall collapsed as it wasn't used to such big crowds. The Gelderd End was based on our South Stand without the seats when they rebuilt it as Revie was that impressed when they played the replay at Boothferry Park. He also stipulated floodlights the same height as ours, the tallest in Europe. Though we were the only club with 6 pylons.
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring
That's the one. I was at Boothferry Park for our game v Spurs (1-1) when Leeds were made to play their first few home games away from ER back in the 70's
Great thread this, a load of bollocks from Leeds fans, along with a detailed population comparison from Castro. What more could you want from a match day thread? Looks like Batty's been declared fit.
I was at the Spurs game. See if you can guess who I was supporting that night. BTW, since West Ham moved stadium there are now 14 clubs who have averaged over 40,000 in a season. Can you name them. Leeds aren't one of them, incidentally.
Good luck today, Hull City! Get a win and three points! I couldn't see that game 'cause Real Madrid has come to Moscow today to play Champions League same time.
I will be looking for better links but in the meantime:- https://www.vipleague.lc/1-hull-city-vs-leeds-united-live-streaming
