Ran an absolute stormer Makes me laugh how they are fawning over Mrs Stockwell and saying how great it is to see her winning a group 1 - horse is probably only in her name for tax purposes
I'm getting red hot favs beaten lately, including today, so doubt there is anyone in worse form than I
I am only interested in this year’s form, Ron. What it did years ago is not relevant – look at Squire. As it was, it ran like this year’s form – stone last, so now 4/5 last two finishes in 2018. Lee should have kept going into Ripon, found a kebab shop and offered them it for the menu. How long as Mourinho got? 5 o’clock? Tomorrow morning? Valencia on Tuesday night? Xmas?
The Ballydoyle clean sweep of the three juvenile races at HQ tells us plenty. The two fancied British runners in the Royal Lodge both flopped and the most fancied of the Ballydoyle contingent ran on to snatch third behind his stablemates – probably a St Leger candidate for 2019. In the Cheveley Park, De Sousa made sure that Pretty Pollyanna got all the loose dirt kicked in her face in the first furlong so she was never a factor and the finish ended up a repeat of the Lowther at York. I cannot say that I would touch Fairyland for the 1000 Guineas as the front two look like sprinters. Well done to JH on sticking with The Mackem Bullet – never quite going to catch the winner but very genuine. The Middle Park turned into a contest between the two horses with the potential and not much between them in the end. If they train on, they could be two for next term. Obviously, Kenya now being backed to complete the four-timer for Ballydoyle in the Cambridgeshire...
How did we miss that one? Didn't even notice it on the card. Unbeaten this year apart from 1 below par run on penultimate outing and chosen by Dettori. Surely someone had it here?
How much are you going to pay me not to stop Ripp Orf? It is now favourite for the ‘getting out’ stakes. I am 0/3 today – my two selections out with the washing and the tip horse last. You know who to blame at 6pm if Ripp Orf trails in last...
After 'Barcelona 1999' I f****n' hate Manchester United so I hope they give Jo-M'o a three tear extension to his contract!
Totally agree about Fairyland, won't get a mile in a horsebox. Bullet on the other hand is crying out for a trip - a mile with ease in the ground would be ideal.I note that she has been bought by a Japanese with deep pockets, and she was only supplemented for the Cheveley on Monday. Word is that she may go to USA for the breeders cup. A 2yo filly travelling to the states after a tough season is wrong,a vanity project if ever there was one! Keep her for the 1000 guineas - she is 25/1 for that race.
Out of Kodiac from a Pivotal mare says it all. Her full brother Atletico can't even get six. This years two year old filly are a horrible bunch to way up. Shame they won't put a top class jockey on Pretty Pollyanna. Suspect The Mackem Bullet is no better than average.
First time ive heard dirt kickback being usd as an excuse in a turf race re Pretty Pollyanna Best bunch of 2yo colts for a long time id say, shame they are all avoiding each other this season. Too Darn Hot has been handed the Dewhurst on a plate by the looks of it. Ten Soveriegns and Quorto put away for next season after winning their G1s. Madhmoon goes for the Racing Post and will be up against Japan who could be a Derby horse. Andre Fabre looks to have a monster on his hands as well. Hopefully they all make it to the Guineas unbeaten and Calyx is back fit. Will be the best Guineas of the decade.
