Very strange event this evening. Just after 9pm there is a knock at the door and it is a 15 year old girl on a bike who says she is lost. She said she had come from one village that is 7 miles away and trying to get to another one a further 3 miles from us. She had no lights, and the roads between those places would have had no street lighting apart from village centres. Poor young thing. She looked very scared. There was some strange story about having to meet a mate where she had to stay because her mum was with her friend who had just had a baby and wasn’t coping.

All abit strange. She asked if we knew how to get to the town she was heading to and my wife and I offered to drive her there rather than send her out in the dark with no lights. We did this.

So the "pinch, punch, first day of the month" king reigns supreme.

Mrs No7 turned her back on me and called me childish

The correct reply is 'a pinch and a kick for being so quick'. But perhaps that is childish as well. :(

Sleight of hand and other magic tricks always look clever.....I keep thinking how dreadful it would be if we discovered that magicians were really cheating and using real magic.

A scandal he was never Sir Geoffrey imo.

So much pleasure given over so many years through that program.

Zippy was a real rebel infused by the total confidence only stupidity can bestow. So all us kids (at heart) could identify with him. The bear was a bit creepy though, and that pink hippo was a bit, erm, pink.

I am so angry at what has gone on in Indonesia. The Indonesian government and it's equivalent of the USGS have made catastrophic errors which has made this disaster so much worse. The tsunami warnings were sent out via TEXT MESSAGE for ****s sake. No sirens at all. That is so bad I can't even put it into words. There are so many reasons why people may not get the tsunami warning message. They might not have a phone, they might have no signal on their phone, their phone may have run out of battery. Also, people may delay reading texts, especially after an earthquake. They may not have noticed their phone go off, they have dropped it. Their tsunami warning system is flawed. Tsunami buoys were given to Indonesia 10 years ago to improve the system. None remain functioning. Unbelievably they've either been stolen or vandalised. It's an absolute disgrace and I fear that if an another earthquake as strong as the one in 2004 hits the area another 200,000 will die.

Rant over. I am extremely passionate about this subject as I studied it at university so apologies for the long winded rant. I appreciate tsunami warning systems will be expensive to maintain but we're talking about a device that could save hundreds of thousands of lives.

I think they should put a Clock on the leaning tower of Pisa .

Then , if you went there , you would have the time and the inclination .

I just came back from the pub .

I asked for a Pint ( Of lime and soda ) . I asked the landlord why there was meat all over the ceiling .

He said , " it's a challenge . If you can get a piece of that meat , you have your drinks free all night . If you can't , you have to put £100.00 behind the bar " .

He asked if I wanted to give it a go . I thought about it for a while and I said " No ta , the steaks are to high " .......

He said "Just pop it in the Corner".
