I do think tactics in football are massively over exagerated

    Its not nfl

    Biggest part is man management

The players are the ones ****ing up

99% the teams that win trophies are the ones with the better players

    Managers? Over hyped

No he doesn't. Read what I wrote. 4 will win the leagues 2 more from each of the Championship
Forgot about the extra one in League 2. Could be getting reacquainted with that extra place in the not too distant future.

I don't think Adkins can claim to be stitched up, as it's well documented he was lingering around towards the end of Slutskys tenure so would probably know all the circumstances surrounding the club regarding the owners. Perhaps being the super-positive bloke that he is, he thought that he could overcome the problems at the club. Definitely not stitched up.

More than that even...don't forget the managers of marginal teams who manage to avoid relegation. That can be viewed as success no ?

He was out of work at the time , he took a job that was available because it was that or hoping something better came along
and who knows if and when that might happen

I'm sure he knew there were problems at the club , I'm also sure he didn't realise quite how bad things were

Naturally. So less than 90% of managers fail.

Throw in he also had Swedish captain in central midfield plus Meyler who was playing out his skin for Eire (though out of favour with us). Despite that, we only just avoided relegation. We are much much weaker this time round especially in the engine room.

He also maybe thought he could influence them. Hence the public comments about wanting his business done early, the sole reason was to work on Enob. Unfortunately it didn't work.
As has been said on here, it's a thankless job when surrounded by such malaise, and are we really going to attract anyone any better?
All irrelevant as Enob won't spend any money in sacking him

Everyone knows how bad things are. Absolutely no excuse. He's actually involved in the game for a living thus well connected and therefore even less chance of having any acceptable excuse.

He's a bellend who managed Scunthorpe. That's all there is to it.

Anyone who blames the current mess on the manager must be the bellend here.

I recall speaking to a bloke in Clarendon a few years ago after we’d just lost to Burnley, having conceded 3 goals in the last ten minutes.

Turned out that he was a scout from Southampton who had come up for the game as we were playing them the following week. This was when Nigel managed them.

Even back then this scout called the Allams a pair of greedy ****houses, those may not have been his exact words.

This bloke, who’m I’m as certain as I can be was legitimate, said Southampton had to pay for his ticket and he was sat in the West stand with the general supporters. He said it was really bizarre as every( and he said every) other club look after scouts from other teams. The bigger the club, the better the treatment.

He said at Old Trafford he was in the hospitality suite and got fed a three course meal.

In other words they acted with class and decorum.

Our pair of shabby half wits might have saved a few quid and hell, they probably made a whopping £30 profit out of his visit but that just about sums them up.

Tacky, greedy, horrible money obsessed, classless **** stains who can’t see the bigger picture.

Make £30 but in the meantime also make yourself look small time and petty, great way of going about things is that.

They’re a laughing stock in the footballing world, a joke.
In fact the way old slap head drives his tacky collection of cars around Swanland and Ferriby he’s a laughing stock in general. The man is an absolute buffoon.

Nigel probably knew back then what they were like when that scout reported back to him so I doubt much of what’s going on is a big surprise for him.

To be fair I think they got it spot on. Why should clubs be so hospitable to scouts who are there to take away their players?

I really enjoyed reading this. Ok it is a bit of a rant, but one I agree totally with. How he gets away with his twattery is amazing. Either his polo buddies are equal twatees or he is as much a joke in that circle too

I would have thought it was mainly so you would encourage more scouts, and make sure that subconsciously they’d had a positive experience so that when you do want to sell players, and the club have been clearly desperate to do that, that you’d get more clubs interested and therefore have more chance of getting a good price for them

You don’t have to sell a player just because someone’s interested, but if you do want to sell then it’s better to have more clubs wanting to buy

...I’d also do it so I didn’t look like a classless ****bag

Selling players is how they have pocketed so much. Surely they would welcome scouts. Nah carmine is correct
