Match Day Thread Vs Chelsea (H)

Got 2 Chelsea fans on my team in work.

 

Unlucky boys. We drew first blood. Weekend game will be totally different.

The only thing I will add is that were we both pretty much played reserve sides. Sarri did bring on the big guns in the second half to win the game but in terms of our team, it was only really 3 first teamers who played (William who rotates with Pedro, kovacic, azpilicueta). Everyone else is pretty much second choice although quite experienced.

Think you guys had something similar in mane, keita and milner who are your first teamers

I think your bullshit about how weak a squad you have was completely exposed.

if someone leaves the field of play they can't simply swan back on and bowl.straight away.

if he "left" for 2 days he should be allowed to post for 2 days

 

Just the two really in Milner and Mane are certain 1st team starters........Keita not so much at the mo.
Saturday will be very different of course.

 

Migs, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Moreno and Fabinho formed the back six plus Studge and Shaqiri makes for eight second choice options. Mane, Milner and Keita were the other three although the latter is 50:50 for staying atm.

 

Not really. I've always said the 2nd lot were solid players but not spectacular. Our lot was losing til sarri had to bring on the big guns.

Unless you think the team you put out are suddenly world beaters we hardly showed how great our depth was losing to your reserve side.

1) Cabellero... yeah bit of a **** keeper but no worse than romero for utd
2) Zappacosta - not a terrible right back, no worse than clyne. you didn't play him
3) Palmieri - much better LB than we have or city for that matter.
4) Christensen - don't rate him not like him.... but he played a bit for you.
5) Cahil.. very old. we didn't get at him imo.. could have though.. but still a very expereicned CB
6) drinkwater - yeah a journeyman and i've no idea why you bought him but you didn't even play him... you also have ampadu who you didn't play
7) Fabregas - ran the show mate... untill we pressed him. we all know how good he is with space - we couldn't even call on lallana
8) barkely. yeah not great made but still a first team player. call him your poor mans milner
9. morata - class player but completely devoid of confidence. we played sturrdige who missed two sitters then scored a peach and could have won it but hit the bar.
10. moses - not spectacular i grant you but you had hudson- odoi also and i was disappotined you didn't play the kid.
11. willian. reserve for pedro or is it other way round.


Now i'm sorry but that team i've outlines should actually be capable of getting at least top 6 in the prem.

Especially if you gave amapadu and husdon a go....

We had our defence form 12 months ago out. they did ok but you could see we've a teribel left full... I wouldn't criticise any others in the back 5 than moreno.

I'm shocked more have not commented on the 100mil of talent that couldn't last 70mins playing for us in midfield and we had to stick in milner as we have 2 injuries

Then up top we played mane as we don't have a spare player like you do.


sorry but you are completely busted here. you've a top squad and have no excuses if you don't go and win stuff.... hopefully you go win this one now

BTW..... If chelsea don't finish at least top 3 and probably second its a failure

GK: Muric
RB: danilo (tbh i wouldn't rate him that highly. not a great "Defender")
LB: don't have one... play delph there.
CB: Kompany (debate if he is first team or not)
CB: stones (also mangala but on loan)
no 6: gundogan
CM: bernardo sila (only when debruyne is out injured)
CM: Foden - only 18
LW: Diaz
ST: jesus
RW: mahrez

Now.. compare that team to chesleas b team... its not so hot is it?

b teams have their strengths and weaknesses. they are only ever seen in a few early cup rounds anyway....

the point has got to be: Cheslea have a big fabulous squad and their main weakness if any is they don't have a 30 goal a year striker at this point in time.

City have aguero and share the goals around. LFC have salah and firmino and mane all scoring.


For me Its not a 2 way title fight. its a 3 way, people write of Chelsea at their peril!

We've now 3 or 4 teams.. city, cheslea, spurs and arsenal.... Now of those who really cares but I just think it'll be city and cheslea playing first teams in this comp and they will win it anyway.

Tbh there wasn’t much in the starting 11’s. You bossed the first 30 minutes, we bossed the second and the last 30 we probably edged but lost out to a worldly when we should have been home and hosed.

That said, add up the league titles in the starting 11’s and you will realise that Chelsea have real quality in depth. Overall, the squad probably lacks a top striker but overall, it’s very good and very deep. If we are contenders then it stands to reason you are too. Realistically, we’ll be fighting for place 2-3 on current form of the top 6. But that can change quickly.

Anyone who hates Moreno spare a thought for Sturridge. Last night, Europa league final etc. he scores worldie goals no one will ever give a **** about because we went on to lose.
