    Was ok. Tasty actually.

Ok, it's just chicken and chips but it was decent chicken and the hot sauce was good. Haloumi starter was very nice but you can't fail with grilled haloumi.

The best bit was probably the waitresses. Would go back.

Now on a bus full of students, mostly from the far east.

I seemed to hit a spell of old Manc stuff walking down.

Was good to hear Sally Cinnamon again and I didn't even skip past Oasis. Badly Drawn Boy too, all good.
Plus a bit of your fave local boys, Sterophonics. (1000 trees, took me back)

    Nothing unfamiliar tonight.

There was something good on a run last night but I was too ****ed to read who it was and didn't have my specs on anyway!

I mentioned above about a guy bringing down chillies from the pub from the local sulplier. On Monday night he brought down some of next years new chillies to the pub.

They dont even have names yet.

    From right to left the scoville units are 1.4million, 1.25m, 1m, 800k, 750k, 400k and 250k.

I didn't even pick the buggers up

Had chicken & bamboo shoots with plain rice. Insanely hot but strangely moorish.

They all look just like regular chillies to me as well. I don't know if all of these varieties will make it to the market shelf either.

I'm sure that he said the strongest one was also very sweet but how the hell you'd be able to tell with that heat I've no idea.

There were quite a few to start with but there were a lot of light fingered buggers at the bar and they'd all gone in a few minutes.

Scorpion is about as hot as I can go still being able to taste the flavour. Apparently they are between 500k and 1.4m scovilles so call it 750/800k average, wouldn’t fancy a 1.4m personally, just heat for heats sake

I wouldn't go near anything that hot. I like to taste my food!

Last year one of the really young lads had the top of his pint glass rubbed with a reaper I think, by his mates.

I've never seen anyone so distressed in a pub before like he was. <laugh> Poor bugger was frantic! <laugh>

Yeah I've never really got the whole "look at the hot **** I can eat, you can't you ****ing pussy" attitude. It is just practice that makes you able to eat it. I was terrible with spice/hot food until I went to uni where one of my house mates loved it. He also loved cooking and everyone chucked him a bit of money each week and he would cook all our meals, with his level of heat. When I started cooking for myself again I found everything bland as **** and now need spice with everything. I'll chuck that psycho juice stuff on a roast dinner ffs :D

I like hot food but nothing silly. I'll have a madras in an Indian but never above that.

I can eat really spicy Thai food, but like you anything above a madras for Indians wipes me out. I don't usually even attempt them now
