It is to Everton. Everton couldn't manage it when it mattered at Wembley though in those BIG "Liverpool cup finals"
Yeah, it really is a mystery why the Fifa committee chose to nominate the one against Everton. Fifa's description of it is a tad over the top though. "With snow falling to set a dramatic scene in a game which needs no extra theatre, Mo Salah conjured a moment of artistic brilliance that would have looked at home on the finest of stages. The ‘Egyptian King’, as he has been dubbed by the Liverpool faithful, controlled the ball exquisitely after receiving a pass on the Reds’ right from Joe Gomez and immediately wriggled free of Cuco Martina – spinning clear of his marker before dribbling into the penalty area. Then came the moment that stole the show, a curling left-footed shot that finished high inside the far corner of Jordan Pickford’s net. The goal was not just aesthetically pleasing, but hugely important, helping the red half of Merseyside claim a point in a 1-1 draw against their bitter rivals. Fans from around the world had their say and chose Salah’s superb effort as the winner of the 2018 FIFA Puskás Award, with the Egyptian victorious having garnered 38 per cent of the vote." https://www.fifa.com/the-best-fifa-football-awards/puskas-award/
It is strange that from all goals scored across the world in professional football... that salah bale and Ronaldo scored the 3 best goals. Youd think sonewhere in some ukranian second division that there was an absolute screamer of a goal scored
Giroud won it last year, we've all heard of him. 2016 Winner: Mohd Faiz Subri, Penang; 2015 Winner: Wendell Lira, Goianésia, - ever heard of either of them? Suggests they do go looking in obscure [or semi obscure] places.
He's been up for it 4 times and won it once so it's unlikely - but who knows, none of it makes much sense.
This was up against Giroud's goal last year and got 21% of the votes. Pity there was hardly anyone at the ground watching the game. Edit: if the youtube link won't open on this website it's here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryX4qy7PrPc - [without the bold and underline].
