Mignolet Clyne Matip Gomez Moreno Fabinho Keita Milner Shaqiri Sturridge Jones (would like to see him play)
Winning the Caribou Cup is not really going to raise the profile of Liverpool or Chelsea one iota but I suspect one of these teams will reach a "meaningless final" for any of the top 4. Winning the PL and a European trophy is something else. Of the two, Chelsea are more likely to win a European trophy in their tournament than Liverpool in theirs given the quality of teams in the CL. As for the League, I feel it will involve LFC, MCFC and CFC. United are keeping their "powder dry" for the CL. Prediction: Chelsea to win on Wednesday, and at the weekend a narrow Liverpool win.
Of what? Only team that can really boss LFC, play in La Liga. (Without Mr Vanity and his mobile, they are playing a better and more cohesive game)
He's got to be rested at some point Edit; just seen he didn't stay yesterday. Is still not play him in this one though. I wouldn't play most of them #****thecup
imo theres vanity at play in league cup. city and Chelsea seem to always go for it... plus their quality gets them into qf easy each year to enable that.
shame we couldn't play wilson or woodburn, but they need game time, and this is probably the only game they would have got it in lol
Me too, fairly certain following this game a number of members who have been decidedly quiet shall be returning from a group holiday
Oh i care I want a win, for momentum, for glory, just cause i dont want us to lose, as I have this worry that we are in great shape this season and to mess this up would be bad. City’s consistency was amazing last season and this season looks set to continue. We cant have one game of a hangover so to keep winnign seems the only course of action. That said if we have to lose that would appear to be the best game to lose. Just worried about its effects.
Imo we have not got the grunt to play this comp in Jan and feb... we will implode per Chelsea last year if we try it on. It must be second string and roll dice
Totally agree but i do care. (Well think i agree not sure about the grunt ) I just worry, it my thing, the longer this goes on the more I worry, enjoying being worried though
look we are not even favourites for league no matter what the media say. It's now their favourite story but the majority of them if pushed would still say city by 5 points at the end. for me if we want to try win the league then Christmas and January are a big big hurdle. league cup will just be in the way. my ideal right now is we focus on Napoli not Chelsea in league cup and then we win both games v red star. the quicker cl is done the better (dooooommmmmed) then just be 100% league focused til fa cup starts up.
We can throw the competition but only when it doesn't endanger our momentum. We need the following conditions to be met: not a home game not against a top 10 PL team not against Everton
so.... now it's ok to be spurs and throw a comp. not quite the same as throw out second string and see what happens.
I'm usually of the opinion that you should try in every competition, but this season we seem so close to being genuine challengers for the big stuff that I can't summon up too much enthusiasm for the minor cups. Therefore I won't be too bothered what happens on Wednesday - however, I do think maintaining the momentum of winning every game would have a positive psychological effect on everyone so I don't think we should just throw it. I'm with mito in that I think we should put out the best team that we think we can spare and just see what happens. It's highly likely the Chavs will do the same.
