Don't fancy being drawn low at Ayr judging by Friday's races.

It looks like somebody else has heard word for this member of the Midgley flock...

My mate’s source in that area has advised it today. Looking at the form, it was not beaten very far last time when seventh and this race is a drop in class on its five starts this year to date.

    Newmarket 5:35 – CAPTAIN COLBY

Even the pundit on SportingLife.com is tipping it, so the whole world and his dog must have been told! I note that it is being backed early doors.

Apologies to Brian and the other owners of GOLD FILIGREE but I am going to put the mockers on it in the Chelmsford 3:25. It has won three of its last six and I have backed it in two of the other three. It never wins when I back it so they won’t be in the winner’s enclosure today...

Does anybody fancy Coeur De Lion in the Newmarket 3:55? It was beaten by the yard’s other runner in the race last year and is nearly a stone higher in the handicap this time around, so surely it cannot win. There is a notable Irish visitor in Golden Spear – is this one being fiddled with 13th October in mind?

Two of the most likely pace horses are drawn low, so I would not be too put off those with low draws. With the state of the ground, I will be giving Ayr a miss although I had tips for Ice Age and Growl during the week.

Don't really fancy anything today as it looks too competitive and all this rain will go against most, however one I do look the like of is TROUBLE AND STRIFE, 3.00 Catterick. Luke Morris's only ride there for SMP. Currently 3/1.

    Ayr
2.00 Borderforce, won last time out and loves the mud, can follow up here i think.
3.15 Queen Of Bermuda, 2nd in group 3 at Chantilly, winner followed up since, can win this today for Haggas.
3.50 Get Knotted, being nibbled at in the market this morning, drops back to 6 in testing co ditions, seems drawn tne right side, can stay on and at least place.
