Barton was my favourate player at the toon and i think every team needs Barton but what he said on twitter pissed me off, he is stating the obvious!....like everyone says have a interview and let us know everything rather than the stuff we know, nothing is holding him back....but now he has just worried newcastle fans about the future of some one there best players tiote, colo, jonas & krul.....

and what he said about santon was bang out of order....i get the feeling there was a slight jealousy there as santon could become the legend he was......yes i do believe santon will struggle to adapt to the area but i think he will be fine in our league...he has all the attributes we need for a full back!!!

I don't know what he said that was so objectionable. We all know that everything and everyone at SJP that isn't nailed down is up for sale at the right price. Personally I hope Joey continues to give the hierarchy at SJP grief. Nothing they can do about it now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Barton either gets outplayed or sent off against us.

I would LOVE it if barton got himself sent off against us

Shockingly unprofessional attitude from him. Glad we are finally rid. Good for us on the pitch but you always felt he was a hairs breath away from doing something stupid... That altercation with Gervinho could have easily gone the other way

As I say, No problem with him saying stuff about MA and how the club is run, but shouldn't be speaking for other players.

Who says those players will leave (not that I'm saying it won't happen) and after the transfer window with feelings run high these kind of comments are just adding fuel to the fire.

People were rioting for nothing the other week, you don't know how far people will take things.
He needs to think be for spouting off.

@ @aknufc95 selling their assets and replacing with cheaper gambles. Santon?? 16 games since 2008, in a poor Italian league, hardly proven PL

    Joey7Barton Joseph Barton
@ @aknufc95 quality........I could be wrong. Also, Language, cultural differences between Milan and North East

Ok Barton...have a go at the heirachy but shut the **** up about our new players unless its wishing them good luck

Bang out of order that like, bit like Danny Simpson and Dzecko (spelling) calling him a pony then had to take it back after scoring 4 (I think) the other day against Spurs.

Can hardly talk QPR signing Ferdinand FFS

They have bought fringe players from around the EPL who are moving into their later part of their career. Not saying they can't do a job, but been there done that paid for it in the long run.

Wrong to speak out about the players though, it's just going to fuel the media and rumours which it already has done looking at NewsNow!!!!

I agree that talking about the other players is wrong and he has no right to insinuate that they will leave.

He's also very harsh on Santon and the quality of Serie A especially when he's buggered off to QPR who would be annihilated in that league and will also struggle to survive in the EPL.

Bash Mike as much as he likes and perhaps Mike will sue for defamation of character and we'll see Joey quoting Nietzsche in a court of law basing his argument on the following:

    I'd offer him this though:

    Look at Joey walk.

I find all the Barton hatred odd.

He is giving candid and quite possibly accurate answers to a question that he has been asked. He is also commenting about a worrying trend in a club that I do think he cares about. That is, after all, what we spend all day doing.

How is Barton less entitled to offer his opinions on NUFC than we are ?

Slagging off his old club's new players is ridiculous. We're not his problem anymore. He's got nothing to do with us now and should focus on his new club.

it's like he's trying to win us fans round and get us to follow him all the time and become QPR fans now or something. I liked him when he was at Newcastle and I'll miss him but the fact is we're Newcastle United fans, not Joey Barton fans. I just wish he'd shut up about the club now. We're gonna move on, we always do, so should he. Not his problem.

Speak about the club and it's running as much as he likes, it's nothing we don't already know.
It's specifically naming players which has pissed me off or his comments about Santon, there are diplomatic ways of answering questions.
If he wants to act all smart maybe he should try toning down his responses.

As I say to come out with comments like that knowing feelings were running high after not signing another striker is just plain stiring the ****.

We slag off our players regularly, as publicly as we can.

When did Barton acquire fewer rights to air his opinions than the rest of us.

Also, the only slagging he has made is the statement that Santon:

    a. has played 8 times since 2008 (true)

    b. played in an inferior league (an element of opinio, but a very generally held one)

    c. is not a proven PL left back (again, true).

If we restricted our criticisms to as factually based cirticisms as Barton's, this board would die overnight
