We will probably lose but I don't give a monkeys. Hurst has clearly got a vision of how he wants us to play and I do not want him to compromise. The team is going to start becoming more settled over the next month or two and there will come a point when things really click.
The only problem with that scenario Yorkie is the growing number of snowflakes who will drown in their own tears in the meantime!
This is car crash management so far. Used far too many players, bang, out the blue a new system v Brentford. No idea what the bigger picture is. Absolutely cannot see a pattern or any logic to decision making.
Yeah, forget that we got a creditable draw against a second placed side flying just bang on about the negatives!
Result and second half performance against Brentford was good, and being unbeaten at home (albeit with four draws) makes for decent reading. But we are the worst team in this division, being bottom of the table and without a win. The league table does not lie. I know we’ve played eight games, but it is what it is. Fans of other Championship teams will look at us and want to play us now. It’s purely a case of showing faith and support to the players and manager on Saturday and hoping we get our first win of the season. I’m hoping once we get that, results will start to come. Based on the results so far, we are definitely struggling. I sincerely hope we can turn this around soon, otherwise we are in for a long season.
I see you've completely ignored the 3-5-2 desperation system and the appalling first half but there we go. People are waxing lyrical about 45 v Brentford and a brave performance with a red v Villa. Sure, there are a few positives - but if we're going down the positive v negative argument, for every positive right now, there are about 5 negatives. Tomorrow is a must win, nothing else is acceptable. I actually think we'll get it too, COYB!
I think San Diego mentioned this elsewhere, but I think we could make the 3-5-2 formation work with the players we have. Donacien and Kenlock (not the biggest fan of him, mind) as wing-backs, then a central defence of Pennington, Nsiala, Chambers or Knudsen would be pretty solid, you'd think. We've got enough quality in central midfield when Dozzell and Huws return to have some cutting edge there and two up front is popular with some on the forum (Walters and Jackson?) Only issue with 3-5-2 is you cannot really shoehorn wingers in. Not an issue with our left wing, but benching Edwards seems like a counter-productive thing to do. Maybe a formation to deploy when we're playing away from home, in games where Edwards has traditionally struggled to have an impact thus far?
It's been mentioned seemingly forever that all will be well when injured players such as Bishop, Dozzell, Huws, and Adeyemi ( whoever the hell he is ) get fit and are available, any news of an imminent return for all or any of these permanent sick notes?
Ermm. No. * Bishop had a small set back for U23s so was taken off as a precaution. Apparently not a bad one, so maybe soon? Won't hold my breathe, it'll be something else next..... * Dozzell played 90 for U23s, scoring. So I guess in theory, he can't be a million miles off a bench spot and last 10/15 if Hurst wants to be cautious? Perhaps feels he needs a few more 90s for the U23s, doesn't want to rush back. Interesting one. * Adeyemi. Apparently started running a bit, out on the training pitch then wasn't there and Hurst appeared not sure why. I think scrapheap. * Huws - seemed to be making progress but then not in U23s so can only assume set back?
That's right, I'm going to the match tomorrow and as we've said it really is a must with game for us, I can't believe that after Saturday the season will be as near as dammit 20% over.
Jesus Christ this is a football club not a bloody mortuary. Huws, Bishop and Dozzell are decent players but none of them are superstars who are going to win us games on their own - and Bish and Huws have barely kicked a ball for Town. If they are involved for any period of time and have any form left after their injuries that's just a bonus but Hurst needs to focus on getting a consistent XI together from the other 25 or so players.
Of all the weeks you could put the comment, you choose this week. Absolutely unbelievable. Bishop just seems made of glass and we're talking 3 years back since he did it sadly. Dozzell - I'd like to see given minutes as has something about him but we'll have to see - up to Dozzell to push on / Hurst feel he's ready.
It's a common turn of phrase Westlake and my comment has **** all to do with Kevin Beattie as you well know and all to do with the constant whinging and doom-mongering from some quarters. Anyone would think it's April with only a dozen points left to play for.
I was scratching my head trying to work out what you'd posted that could be described as "Absolutely unbelievable"!?Talk about hypersensitive, welcome to generation snowflake!!
