So how’s everyone feeling now we’re on to the 2nd September?

I am personally not angry anymore, just dejected. It’s like when you start seeing a lass who you know is a sl*g and she cheat’s on you. You’re gutted but not angry because you really shouldn’t have expected anything else.

I’m feeling really “de-energised” about the toon at the minute. I don’t have a season ticket as I work random weekends in my job but I take in about 12-15 matches a season “as and when” I’m not working. I also try to do away games (Leeds was my last one – amazing banter – “44 you’re fat as f*ck, 44 you’re fat as f*ck)

Anyway, I haven’t bought any toon tops so far this season and don’t plan to now after the £600k net spend in the transfer window. I’m not buying any Sports Direct merchandise and I’m not eating in the ground. That’s my own little protest as I’m not going to embarrass myself at the organised one on the weekend.

I’m just wondering where everyone’s at?

Not long until new window lets hope we can get a new striker then :)

    I'm fine.

I'd hoped to have signed an additional striker but looking forward to the QPR match and hoping to see Santon play.

I won't buy a new shirt because of the stories about it's shoddiness and quality.

I was in Sports Direct the other week and have to admit the quality appears to be pretty ****, I also find it hard to justify paying so much for a single top when I'm trying to save cash for my holiday in 6 weeks. Then it's nearly Christmas when I get back so no toon top for me this season.

I went to SD a few weeks back and just felt the material and cringed. It feels cheap and I can see why the crest etc are peeling off after a few washes.

I felt the Man City top next to it and it felt far better quality and was the same price.

Same here, it feels really thin and flimsy. Cheap and Nasty, the orange away strip makes you look like you work for EasyJet!!! (My oldest son pointed that out) <laugh>

I'm still optomistic about the season, we've made some good signings (yes could have made more before we go there) and made a good start to the season.
Lets look onward and upward rather than down and out.

There are plenty of other teams in a worse position than us

Very disappointed but not surprised. I expected us to be left high and dry without a striker in reality despite convincing myself they weren't that stupid. On the flip side I also expected us to have no left back so the fact we have Santon who could be anything if he can get his form back. The lad had class when I watched him in Italy and you know what they say, class is permanent! I was also slightly disappointed we'd let Swansea nip in and nab Situ because we couldn't agree a compensation fee. £250k?? There must be more to this I suspect or we're just being ridiculous. I thought he was ideal as back up we needed.

Hey ho so goes the life of a Newcastle fan of late, at least we didn't see Carlton Cole or Liam Ridgewell.

P***** off, but at least we didn't panic buy like other years and buy more crap.

Have to agree about Gateshead, seen them at Southport last week - best match been to this season.
Better atmosphere than at SJP against Fulham.
Full of long stsnding Toon fans at Gateshead.
You can stand and shout and you dont have Ashleys Mafia telling you to sit down every five minutes.

I'm good fine thanks. Still a bit sleepy after only one nights catch up on 9 days with little or none sleep. Bought a cool lamp from ASDA today though and it's blue and only 3 quid so that's cheered me up. And a black and white oven glove.

    Yourself?

Wow, if a new lamp and an oven glove can cheer you up I'll buy you a new apron to wear while you're using the new lamp with your oven glove on while cooking the dinner.

Don't be daft AB! I wear no apron! Just buying some **** for the new house, considering there wasn't even an oven glove in there and I realised that AFTER I'd put food in to cook.

It does sound rather camp I know <whistle> <laugh> But the lamp is ****in' cool. I love lamp

I was up at 6 for work (I'm not a morning person) and I think the meal I had last night did a number on my guts. I bought some Indian snacks from Morrisons as they were reduced and put them in a fridge. My dad hates spicy food so mum ended up making a Lasagne for tea but we used up some of the pakoras and spring rolls (Chinese I know, don't start) but by then they were already a day out of date. It was a nice meal but probably too much, especially with the gassy own-brand lager I bought (20p a can!!!).

I've pretty much been on and off the toilet all day, wish I could have a satisfying solid movement but I'm firing cluster bombs at the minute. Carrying heavy boxes upstairs hardly helps, was genuinely worried that I'd have an accident! Then I took my crocodile costume (I don't rent, I buy, I'm financially secure that way) to work and did a little charity walk to help out some local kids who were having a bakesale but MAN were they bossy! Raised about £30 in a bucket and the cheeky get said, "is that it?" Couldn't get too angry though, I like seeing kids trying to do good, especially when they are (for want of a better word) from a chavvy family.

So then I finally got back and remembered I need to check QPR tickets. Sold out AS I WAS BROWSING so I cancelled my trip to London. I was going to see Shonen Knife but after I booked the tickets I saw them at the Cluny (very pretentious venue, £3 for a single vodka!) so I didn't really see the point in forking out train fare to see them again, trying to get my money back now but they're being a bit arsey.

I've got some time off work so I figured I'd go somewhere else rather than London, managed to save up a little bit over the year. I want to avoid the touristy places so I picked Bucharest. Went into to Thompsons, was about half an hour. Came out and noticed all the paperwork was for Budapest! Went back in and found out they don't go to Bucharest. Went to Dawson and Sanderson and I could tell the woman there was bored so we just looked at every single holiday to waste some time. I flirted a little, something I'm trying to do more (never been all that confident). She was old enough to be my mum but not a MILF so it was very tame and relaxed. The seat there was REALLY comfy so I stayed a while.

Found I can get my holiday online, week including flight from £510! Not bad. My other option was Athens for £530 but I don't want to be petrol bombed so I think I'll give that a miss, to be honest I was just humouring the travel agent as she seemed a little disappointed that she couldn't help me.

Came home and made myself a sandwich, used half a packet of out of date ham (that's how I roll) and used brown sauce to cover up any slightly off taste it might have. It's alright though, only cost 29p so I don't mind if it makes me poorly, figured I'm already poisoned so it doesn't make much interest.

Oh yeah, some good news! My friend has sorted it for us to go to Lightwater Valley tomorrow, should be fun! Right now I'm pretty tired though, probably going to go to bed early tonight.
