1985 saw the debut album from The Men They Couldn't Hang, a band formed with ex-members of local punks Catch 22. This was their 2nd single from it.
Just read a cracking joke on the youtube comments (yes really!).... When I last played Midge Ure at Scrabble, after I put down my last remaining 4 letters, he retorted "This means nothing to me! O, V, N, R??"
Haven't been to Glasto for about 25 years, roughing it in a tent is not very appealing to me these days!...
Fair enough! I try and soften up the roughness by having a 3 man tent to myself and a double air bed (with battery powered pump). The thing that I struggle with the most is waiting in the queue for hours on the first day stacked up like a carthorse. I hate that bit with a passion. Bruised my shoulders last year doing it,... though it's my own fault really for taking so much with me.
I agree, but I have only ever been once as a punter, the other 2 dozen times I was working, which is much more fun, plus you get fed, and it’s free! Last few times I was camping on the farmhouse lawn, with access to indoor flush toilets and hot showers, which kind of spoils you!
Six more tunes from '85.. The Paisley Underground movement was still producing some great 1960s revival music, here are three more bands...
Some more selections from my personal collection from '85.... Here's what Jonesy did next after getting sacked from the Clash....
