Welcome to the second edition of Loan Watch. A feature in which I will be updating you with how the players Kenny Dalglish sent on on loan are getting on. Currently we have 5 players on loan. They are Joe Cole who joined Lille for the season, Alberto Aquilani who joined AC Milan for the season, Stephen Darby who joined Rochdale for the season, Peter Gulacsi who joined Hull for the seson and Dani Pacheco who joined Atlético Madrid for the season. In a twist, Atletico Madrid left Dani out of their squad and sent him on loan to Rayo Vallecano in an unique double loan deal. Joe Cole: Joe only joined Lille yesterday and therefore hasn't played a game for the French champions. Alberto Aquilani: Alberto joined AC Milan for the season on the 25th August 2011 and hasn't played for Milan yet due to the strike taken by the players in Italy. The season is expected to get underway this weekend. Stephen Darby: Stephen joined Rochdale for the season on the 7th July and has played 5 times for them. He was voted fans player of the match in Rochdale's 0-0 draw against Carlise. Rochdale fans seem happy with him and he has been solid for Rochdale. Should be a good experience for Stephen but I would expect him to be sold at some point due to the increased competition in the right-back slot at Liverpool. Highlights of Rochdale's last league game- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14700960.stm Peter Gulacsi: Peter joined Hull City for the duration of the season on the 19th July. He has played in the first 3 league games of the season but was then replaced by Adriano Basso who is Hull's other senior goalkeeper. Hull fans seem to think the lad lacks a bit of confidence and needs to command his box a lot better. In short, Peter has got some work to do but he's young and i'm sure he'll improve. Dani Pacheco: Dani was sent on loan to Atlético Madrid on the 24th August but was sent to Rayo Vallecano in an unique double loan deal. He hasn't played so far this season.
pacheco thing is ridiculous. it seems he needs to play well this season for vallecano and then get sold for more moeny that we could ask for now... hopefully we might get 3mil or so in. Absolutely bizarre but the boy still hasn't learned he needs to work harder... another babel in that regard.
I think Stephen Darby is a lot better player than people give him credit for,got very good reviews last 2 years at both Swindon and Notts Co,Maybe not good enough for LFC , but i have a feelin he make it to the prem at some point durin his career
I don't doubt that Stephen has ability but with Johnson, Kelly and Flanagan fighting for the right-back slot, I can't see him getting a regular starting slot.
Cheers! Might be a while though because of the international break. Gives me time to properly research how they are getting on though!
Not quite as exciting as Shark Watch...but good job. I didn't know Dani went to Vallecano, I missed a trick there. Just assumed he was at Atletico.
BTW on the Pacheco deal there is a fixed price which is undisclosed, rumoured to be 2m euros. So if he plays well we can buy him for that price
I'm not 100% sure on that one but whilst I was doing the research for this article, I found a couple of articles which said that he was loaned to Rayo Vallecano after joining Atletico Madrid on loan.
