He missed the break and instead of being one back he was in seventh. Turning in I thought he had no chance as we all know he takes an age to pick up, and so it was. Flying at the finish and the winner edged out on us close home. Annoyingly he will now probably go up a few pounds and in reality he isnt the animal he was two seasons ago so will probably struggle to win off anything higher. The cheekpieces seem to work though so who knows. Shouldnt have to wait too long to find out. Not sure we can blame Havlin for a slow start but that cost us the win for sure! Obviously we had some decent bets on him tonight and thankfully they were EW (we live and learn).
Thanks for the honest update stick - much appreciated ... and welcome to the world of the ew thieves ... we go again !!
****, that was close. Another couple of strides he would have won. Suffered a bit of scrimmaging early on. That was really unlucky
As I said before stickler, he’s been a good servant for you. Looking at his record he’s been there or there about in about 20%of his races and been penalised for being so consistent and honest. With a bit more luck those win stats could have been seven or eight instead of three. I’m not really sure how ratings and all that work but there’s a nice meeting at hq in a couple of weeks, I’ve always felt he ran well there. A mile and one has always been his best trip for me. Well I I’ve lost quite a few quid on him lately but I’m not too disappointed because he’s one of them horses that always gives his best, what more can you ask? Anyway cheers and good luck.
