Don't know if it's been mentioned, but, 'Happy' on Netflix is worth a watch. Bonkers, violent, and funny. Takes a while to get used to how bonkers it is.
Just binged on the first three series of "Better Call Saul". Absolutely brilliant...acting, dialogue, plot lines first class. Couldn't stop watching. Even better than Breaking Bad IMO. Saw first two episodes of Season 4 and it just gets better. My other favorite is the Israeli "Fauda". Gripping series on the struggle between Mossad and Hamas/ISIS. Its also brilliantly acted and totally absorbing. Although hard to figure out who is on which side sometimes...given the number of double agents.
I've just finished Series 1 of Fauda ("Riot or Chaos") based on the recommendation on here. Really good although some of the acting in the first couple of episodes was a bit iffy - the man character Doron seemed to have a permanent smirk on his face the first couple of episodes but he improved rapidly as did the acting in general. Looking forward to watching Series 2 which is on there too. And there is definitely something about Abu Ahmad's missus.... Also I think I would have preferred it all in subtitles rather than flitting between the 2 languages.
Can't remember if it's been (or I've) mentioned before but... The Sinner is class; Series 2 being broadcast at moment. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6048596/
I really liked the first series. Does the second series have any link to the first? I'd assume just the detective?
That's right - the only link (thus far) is the same detective (played by Pullman). I actually think the second series surpasses the first, although that could be down to the fact that series 2 is current in my mind. Whichever way, it's very good.
Agreed - for a spinoff its a Frazier rather than a Joey. Some Breaking Bad aficionados feel its pace is glacial but I really like the slow slow build up. Why must it sprint to the inevitable coupling with Breaking Bad? The characters are well rounded and their stories are intriguing. None of the main players are totally good or totally bad. We're at Season 4 episode 6 now and getting nearer and nearer to the BCS BB collision. Jimmy is definitely starting his transformation to Saul. The almost inevitable split with Kim can't be far off either. Mike is already in BB mode. Howard is losing it, mind wise and business wise, ever since the death of Chuck. The sadistic controlling cold mindset of Gus is revealed with his childhood reminiscences. What more can you ask for? It's a great show.
Two excellent shows on Amazon prime - “Jack Ryan” and “This is us” Up there with the best Netflix has to offer IMO.
I watched a few years a go when it first came out but just couldn't get in to it. Giving it another go at the minute so hopefully I get hooked.
The Bodyguard has been good on BBC. Gonna give the Aussie one on BBC4 this Saturday night a go.""Mystery Road "" Top channel
I’ve enjoyed it, although I’m a couple of episodes behind (so no spoilers thanks) Surprised that the woman who fingers herself in hotel doorways died though !
