No mention of paying continually over half a million ££££££ to a un qualified DOF who paid the said agents and players , most of which did not suit the Club or the fact that the Club has lost millions on then selling those players at a substantial loss or buying back players who we previously sold and using the money we were owed to buy back those players .Or the fact that we've gone through managers like theres no tomorrow, all with a few million £ pay offs . Yes lets blame the players and their nasty agents for all our ills, that way the heat stays off the Board.
Who were paid over the top wages and still are trying to compete in the premiership that is controlled by half a dozen clubs.....We had to pay hand over fist employing managers that were so out of their depth it was unbelievable.....But yes the players did not perform like the could have and should have and were seen many times some of them smiling and laughing when we lost .....I'm so glad we have got rid of these players even at a loss in some cases as long as they are gone and replaced them with young players who actually want to play for the Swans and its baring fruit....There is no way i want promotion for at least 3 seasons if ever as we dont want to be dragged again into a league that is so unfair and very bias towards the big teams.....Maybe teams like Leeds and Boro could survive but a small team like us would struggle and would end up as whipping boys like Cardiff has experienced once before and will again this season.......Premiership they can keep it until there is a change...
That's a change of heart, Dai!!!??!! You were cock-a-hoop for the last years even when you were, yourselves, whipping boys. I'm not sure I shall enjoy this season as much as last but I am glad we are where we are, even if only for the season. On the subject of wages, I know that your wages are at the top end of the league as a percentage of income...….but is the absolute figure so 'over the top' for Premiership teams?
There's the rub FFB. You can spend all your income, and in some cases more, and still get no where near the salaries paid by the big boys. It's not a level playing field. I'm with you, will enjoy it while it lasts but would rather get relegated than end up with financial problems. We've been there before.
In the 7 seasons we were in the premiership i could say hand on heart that i enjoyed the first two seasons with the rest being as boring as i have ever witnessed. And the big clubs with money no object buying up most clubs best players and in the majority of cases did not even play the player....It was total greed and it forced clubs to pay top dollar for replacements which in turn increased the wages and pathetic contracts where the players had the control and in the end they were not worth the paper they were written on. Even teams below the top 6 were raiding the lower clubs like Everton did with us......The two clubs that suffered the most were Southampton and us and we were doing well in the first couple of seasons and bang we both were losing our best players willy nilly and these guys were on great contracts......You would find that to run the club was so expensive that you could not compete fairly and as the seasons past it would get even more expensive until you eventually get relegated,,,,I got to hate the premiership in the end as i could not see the point being there, The money was good but that was it as the football was terrible and in most games very predictable.....I am enjoying the football now in the championship and they can stick the premiership up their arse until big changes are made to make it much fairer.......just my opinion....
Wonder which poster was moaning about what the current owners were doing..... “It is plain to see that the policy of the club under this lot is to make as much profit as we can and living on a hope and a prayer....” Clue? He now says thank God that they are here......
