It's Sunday and there's no sign of anything much going on externally to the stadium. There's a few people in the bowl and maybe double figures on the roof but no one working on the veils on any stand or pouring concrete to advance paving. That may belie 1,00's of electricians and others beavering away internally to fix problems and complete unfinished areas. However, whatever the issues and whenever the potential opening date, the level of completion externally appears not to be a critical issue requiring vast amounts of expensive overtime.

There's no indication of the club seeking additional workers to progress the external build, whereas there's been no end of reporting regarding the search for electricians. Hopefully, this puts an end to suggestions that one can determine the level of readiness from looking at the external images. No? Didn't think so.

No sparkles working overtime since tottenham withdrew the funding of the extra cost and refused to pay up the previous payments , plus a project in Manchester is paying the same money

Once the full extent of the problems is ascertained and any remedial action is undertaken that may change? When the roof started to fall behind schedule, there were other sites that had difficulty in recruiting abseiling types as we were hiring at the top rates. That phase has also passed but there's no sudden influx of panel installers, block pavers or concrete workers, which are the tasks that most people are using to indicate that the works were behind schedule for the Liverpool game.

Someone's just posted this on SSC. There's been a number of posts saying that there'd be a statue on the top of the South Stand and that it would be a Tottenham Hotspur cockerel. I'm guessing this'll be it. Fabulous news that the tradition will remain.

I can't get a sense of scale but I'm reckoning that it'll have to be considerably bigger than the original as it'll be twice as high on the new stadium and completely dwarfed by the scale of the structure otherwise. Anyway, it's a bit of good news...........

If you look at various photos and updates doing the rounds, there is quite a bit of stuff getting done - stairs on the north west corner nearly completed, the new ticket office/ Nike shop is moving along. Pavement areas at the front of the West stand all the way along to the corner of Park Lane. Agreed the veil is slow being installed but lots of things being done during proper working hours.

Of course, the replies are either talking about the size of our cock, or how we won't be moving in until the 2022/3 season

Would IMHO have been great if the new cockerel could have gone
on the north stand, given the sun tracks east to west, and it would
also be facing the new south stand.

However the symbolism is far more important than its location.

Together with St Nicholsons' ashes being buried in an area where
the old WHL pitch would have intersected the new pitch, and
using rubble from old WHL to embed in the fabric of the new stadium,
new WHL feels immensely more like home to me than the Library is
    to the Goons.

I'd never heard that story. IMO it's absolutely brilliant they've gone to lengths to preserve such things instead of just making it all new and perfect.

    Just seen this on SSC....

Mickey Hazard has just said on The Spurs Show from Monday night that he thinks the next test event (which he will be a part of) will be in 2 weeks time and be a legends game with an 50k attendance.

He stuttered a bit once he realised what he said but then said "he'd been given a big clue"

Hopefully, it's true and we're back on track.

Not sure how this is meant to be a secret, given that Spurs will need to find 50,000 spectators! But this is encouraging news.
