If Robinson was still our gaffer we would have taken 1 point from our last two games and the play-off dream would be dead. Charlton would be sitting in 10th or 11th with 53 points, and wondering if we would even reach the 60 point total for last season. Thank Heavens Gobbo left when he did. That was the biggest favour he ever did us.
I think we're in a position to see how poor Robinson was. The fans tried their best to support him. In vain.
Yeah. Robinson was a dead man walking for a good while. I don't know how Bowyer will work out long term, but we were spiralling down under KR. Nothing against him personally, but only our daft position regards the takeover kept him from the dole.
Just watching Oxford v Coventry. Oxford are sh1t ! Their forward line comprises two Charlton old boys - Obika and Holmes. Ricky cuts a very unhappy figure these days, not only has he been poor in today's game, he looks thoroughly p1ssed off as well. What a shocking career decision that was...although its paid him well.
Seems to happen to most of our POTYs of recent times. They seemingly slip into obscurity after making questionable decisions.
Shame Holmes couldn't have come back, but they always say second time around isn't the same, and he would have needed to try awfully hard to recover his relationship with the fans, having left the sinking ship previously. I think it would have been a plus for us and him if he came back in his best form. He's doing himself no favours with the circus that is KR.
Ricky Holmes asked to come back but Bowyer wasn't interested. He doesn't have a good reputation at the Training ground. A Bertie big bollocks.
Ricky never gave less than 100% when wearing a Charlton shirt …. I wonder if the real reason was because Bow wanted to spend the salary money on someone else?
He never gave less than 100 per cent, I agree but I am just passing on information I have heard from someone who works at the training ground.
I think Bowyer was speaking with forked tongue about Holmes. Oxford has a wealthy owner who would have taken on a percentage of Holmes' hefty Sheff Utd wages. We, on the other hand...
