I think it's something we can comment on if we feel inclined, without actually caring too much. There are some public figures that I would think are worth a mention on passing if they've done something significant or interesting. Can't say I feel anything either way about Burt. He had a good life by all accounts, so that's it. The Diana Grieforama was spectacularly ott, imo.
To be honest, it was best that Ford got the role instead of him, he made Solo his own. As for Pretty Woman, can't picture him in that role. I can't see him outside of Smokey and the Bandit after it being repeated ad nauseam on TV.
This is probably the best decision he made, he saw his limitations and decided against it. Just imagine him putting together a crappy English accent or speaking in American, it would have been a disaster. As for Boogie Nights, he apparently turned it down 7 times! He hated the porn storyline but still ended up taking it. If there ever was a role that suited him it was this one.
