I wonder why Harry isn't on this one.

Maybe this has something to do with it <laugh>

Although Fehily hasn't done much better. The horse has only won twice and both times was ridden by Wayne Hutchinson. His rating has plummeted from 133 in Feb last year to 112 now. So he is either rapidly declining and won't win another race, or this is a huge plot. Being backed at 9/4 but there are 2 others blue across the board. Interesting

Nothing of any interest running on these shores today...

Over at Longchamp, the Group 1 Prix Du Moulin and the Group 3 Prix Gladiateur have been taken off the Arc Trials day card to make this new fixture.

Three notable Godolphin raiders in the three Group 3 events: Charlie Appleby has sent Ceratonia over for the Group 3 at 2:45. The British bookies have it as favourite but it is impossible to judge the merit of the form of the home team and the daughter of Rumh clearly looks like one for next term. He also has Court Poet in the other juvenile event at 3:55. In the Prix Gladiateur (4:25), Saeed bin Suroor runs Game Starter, with Oisin Murphy possibly looking to make the running as this one steps up in trip.

The three British raiders in the Moulin all have obvious chances. Expert Eye is still yet to win over a mile and won a Group 3 over seven furlongs at York. Prior to that he finished ahead of disappointing favourite Without Parole in the Sussex Stakes but behind the winner LIGHTNING SPEAR, and that race was run like a French race with a moderate early pace and a sprint to the line. I expect a change of tactic on the Gosden horse but the same result for David Simcock.

Best of the home team is clearly Recoletos, who was put in his place by Alpha Centauri in the Jacques Le Marois and flopped in the Queen Anne – Lightning Spear ahead in third – before that. Andre Fabre’s Plumatic is on a hat-trick but his latest win was a Group 3 on these shores where favourite Elarqam flopped again. Whilst the filly Wind Chimes was third in the Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas) that form looks very moderate now.

    hi fellas!hope,youre well..

    fontwell,3 05

most of these have something to prove on current form, but are dangerously well handicapped all the same.but i think, course regular CODE OF LAW shouldnt be totally overlooked here, despite the outsider of them.course form is a big plus here, and he ran not too bad here last time out.usually competes at a bit lower level than this, but has a good weight today, and a workable mark.so,not dismissed e w..

hard to put a finger on,what WEIGHTFORDAVE has achieved so far,and the penalty doesnt make any easier for him,but on the plus side, this looks a bit easier than his last runs, and his ex-irish form isnt too shabby either.so,hes my choice here..

    finally a winner again,relief..

    fontwell,4 40:

turban is the form horse here, and well treated, but im not sure,if he can give this big weight away to bottomweight HARDTOROCK.this one is quite lightly raced for his age,and runs off a basement mark today.with a bit of progress, can go well..

i am usually a bit cautious about penalised horses in bumpers, but DORETTE might be good enough to follow up here.was a bit lucky to score last time out,but still a good effort..

    WALLET RANT MODE ON

No idea what Oisin Murphy was doing on Lightning Spear. Clearly he did not bother looking in the race card to see that connections of the favourite (and subsequent winner) had entered a pacemaker. That was why he finished with a wet sail three lengths behind the winner coming from out the back. No Xmas card for Oisin – two losers in two days on bad rides from him but he managed to win the big sprint at Haydock on a horse that only ever wins at Ascot.
