I understand the guy with the megaphone yesterday was from B20.

Fair play to everyone who made the effort to turn up, but despite what Ben Hayes is claiming, the numbers were not sufficient.

A couple of people have DMd me on Twitter including a poster on here to say they stayed in the pub.

Personally I was at the first Duchâtelet protest, and I will be at every one until the last and until his malign arse has been kicked out of this great club.

The next protest will need to be a more creative effort, but it’s important that momentum is not lost.

I understand the real attendance yesterday was between 5000-6000.

I'm not sure 'fuming' is how I would describe my feelings about yesterday.
    A little embarrassed maybe <doh>
    Saddened certainly :emoticon-0106-cryin
Disillusioned. More so than ever before :emoticon-0153-broke

    The protest was a non-event.
A faint echo of what happened during the relegation season three years ago.

    The match was little better.
Drawing with Fleetwood Town in front of 5,000 fans in an almost silent, almost empty stadium.
A couple of weeks after drawing with Accrington Stanley in front of 2,000 fans in a non-league standard stadium.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

From the 1950's to the 1980's Charlton Athletic suffered three decades of decline which was only reversed after the Club lost its home.

The current decline is not as lengthy yet (just over a decade) but in terms of the football it has been a steeper one.

After WW2 it took well over twenty years for CAFC to slide from the 1st Division to the 3rd Division, and for average attendance at the Valley to fall from 40,000 all the way down to 5,000.

During this current decline it has taken only 12 years for CAFC to slide from the Premiership to 6 seasons in League One, with average attendances falling from 27,000 to 5,000.

The other obvious difference between the 1950's - 1980's decline and the current decline is that we do not know of course when the current decline will be reversed, or how much further the Club will fall in the meantime - in terms of league status, attendance and where we play our home games.

the staff inside the lounges were a little annoyed that no mnagement had turned up to face the music. guess it was an easy shift for everyone with no one there.

Hopefully @Royston Vasey will sort the troops out and the Wycombe game will get more numbers for the protest.

Do the protests make any difference? That is the question, and the answer has to be that they don't affect Roland, who lives in his own bubble. I'm sure ROT will pi55 him off, especially if they achieve any local support, but will they persuade him to drop his price to a realistic level? Probably not, but if they cause him to come under scrutiny in his own back yard it is a worthy cause. When he is asked in Belgium about the problems at Charlton his response is to tell a pack of lies, and he would feel uncomfortable about this being exposed, so I'm all for ROT, CARD has had its day.

I agree with Forest. I now think that protests at the Valley are futile. There is nobody in charge to vent our anger to. I think the only way to get to Roland is in his own backyard.

We need another big Belgian protest to counter Roland's line that there are just a few activists undermining his good work.

Mr van Gerwen had been told to organise this after the Fleetwood game. He was meant to be sorting it with Ivor.

Kojak, how was the car park protest?

Were you organising the troops early after the purchase of Luton tickets, making Dushitelet richer.
