I’m also concerned about the Greeks and the pop group MPeople. In Greek, an M & a P together make a B. So are they known as Beople in Greece?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-45438736 Interesting experiment to remove plastic from the oceans. One person suggests it is a distraction from the real problem i.e. plastic getting into the ocean, but sometimes there are many answers when trying to solve a problem. The long term answer is to reduce the amount of plastic waste, but also a good idea to reduce the stuff that is already there.
If we don’t remove the junk already there it will still create harm. We should do both and someone has to be the first.
I asked my local Vicar "how much to hire a church singing group?" He said "you mean a choir" I said "ok, how much is it to acquire a church singing group?"
I've started reading a horror story in Braille...something terrible is going to happen...I can feel it
Another long term Saints fan gone My friend of more than 50 years (the whole of which he spent supporting Saints) died on Thursday, one month after collecting his state pension. Mad? You bet I am. Incandescent at the cruelty and unfairness of it all. I don’t know whether to hope Saints qualify for Europe for him this season or get relegated so he doesn’t have to go through the pain. As for his family and friends, there’s a massive hole in our world now and I’m trying to think of some appropriate way to celebrate his life ....
Dave, that is so cruel. I hope time eases the pain & your memories together help you through. Had a pretty tough time myself this summer, and the quiet of night seems to be my crux. I'm hoping that time does me a favour at some stage, but alas, still waiting.
So sorry to hear that HR. Life can be unbelievably ****ty, but I like to think he knew nothing about it and didn’t suffer. I know what you mean about the quiet of night. I’ve just come out of the “lying awake and thinking what happened” stage and now I need to be strong for his partner and family. Hope things get better for you.
Very sad news Dave, and **** timing. I can strongly empathise with your anger, as my Dad died suddenly shortly before he was due to retire and my Mum was still angry when she passed on 25 years later. Let’s hope Saints give you an opportunity to celebrate your mutual love this season.
Someone bought Stevie Wonder a chees grater for Christmas . He said it's the most violent book he has ever read ….
A pavement walked into a bar and started yelling....the barman warned us to keep away from him as he was a cycle path.
Sad to hear that Dave. Always horrible to lose someone close and relatively young. My mate who is 1 month younger than me had a heart attack last month and only just pulled through after a double bypass - I know he would have left a hole in our world as we have known him forever. Let’s hope the Saints do him justice on the pitch this year so you can remember the good times with him.
