At some point fans won't celebrate a goal they'll sit quietly and wait to see if it's allowed.

Yep. Or everyone will get to their feet and partake in some rhythmic clapping and chanting of var while waiting for the decision.

    Just **** the **** off. ****s.

All we are waiting for now is Ray Winstone's massive dish to pop up offering VAR goal odds while we wait.

How would you feel though if you had to wait for every goal to be confirmed, it would get to the point of us not trusting the ball in the back of the net as enough?

I was all for it at the World Cup.
But that tournament proved that it doesnt work. The refs were reviewing footage and still making the wrong calls, giving penalties and bookings where they shouldn't.
Plus didnt you notice every world cup game had 5 plus minutes added as stoppage time because of the faffing about.

Goal technology has worked a charm, VAR still needs work imo and refs need better training.

I hate VAR tbh. Takes the human element of reffing away imo. I would like to see the 3 appeals system that's used in tennis.

Yep Hawkeye works well, quick buzz on his watch and it crossed the line no delay at all. I imagine that Hawkeye could easily do something with offside.

It does? Must have missed that at the world cup.

Said before that that's genuinely where I believe it's going...

Only it the interfering with play element is removed.

I know it's coming and we can't stop it but I really hope that they don't use it for handballs as there was some ridiculous decisions at the WC.

I find it incredible that some fans seem to want it but what the hell everyone's entitled to an opinion but to me it's going to kill the game I love. The cheating, the controversy, the bad decisions, ghost goals, incorrect pens, pens not given, hand of God, diving it's all part of the game as much as the good footy skills, goals and everything else. It dives you nuts as a fan when it goes against you but again it's part of the passion and at times drives your team on to make it right. Stop trying to make big changes to the game we don't want it, or at least a lot of us don't want it.

Very true. Some decisions you get, some you don't. It's all part of the game so live with it.

The fact is, too many decisions are too subjective anyway so you're never going to get everything 'right'.

Watching things in slow motion can help more than hinder too imo, especially for handballs.

It's only going to get worse and worse and refs will use it more and more. Yes it will probably get a few right, but is it
worth all the other **** that goes with it?

    Not for me.
