I said MANY Willy, if you are trying to be pedantic.....more than happy for you to pull up some figures for me ‘cos I haven’t got the time to be honest.
If you can't - or won't - pull the numbers to back up your own point, then you don't HAVE a point, mate. It's not my job to support your side, especially when it can't possibly BE supported.
Yeah stabbing a 15 year old because he’s in the wrong postcode is really a way of championing your community......carry a knife and do time.....end off....I don’t care if your black, pink or ****ing blue. Anyway I’m off ‘cos I’m a bit screwed up today and probably looking for a row.
There's a need for BLM's message everywhere, mate. Yes we have gang crime here, and knife crime going along with that - but what we don't have is cops deciding to pull out a gun and kill a black kid as a first resort because he's using a mobile phone in his own back yard, whilst they somehow manage to take white guys alive after they have shot up schools, churches, or movie theaters killing dozens of people with semi-automatic weapons. Some people can't - or won't - see that, and that's a pointer to why we have institutional racism, when people within institutions are blindly happy to broadcast such attitudes. Against blacks far quick than against whites.
Get some sleep and then come back and re-read what I've actually said. Because you're clearly not ready for this at the moment, and you're sounding like it.
Totally......but in the context of US ‘gun culture’ I can get why some police in the US have a policy of ‘shoot first’ (not that I agree with it)....it’s not just a ‘race’ thing as some like to say.
If you're black in the US, you're far more likely to be shot and killed by police than if you're white. https://www.vox.com/cards/police-brutality-shootings-us/us-police-racism
Your probably right and I’ll end up saying things that I’ll later regret....let’s just say I totally disagree with what you say and hopefully we’ll meet up again soon and have a decent conversation about it over a beer. Have a good one.
13 per cent of Americans are black, according to the latest estimates from the US Census Bureau. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, black offenders committed 52 per cent of homicides recorded in the data between 1980 and 2008. Source - 4 News
Which doesn't address the issue we are actually talking about here, that of the clear tendency of US police to shoot blacks but take white offenders alive, irrespective of the 'crime' (again - the white shooter at Stoneman Douglas High was taken alive, as was the white shooter at Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama, the white shooter at Santa Fe High School, the shooting of parents by a white shooter at Michigan High School, the white shooter at Freeman High School in Rockford, WA.... the list goes on and on and on, whilst Stephon Clark was shot and killed by police in Sacrament for using his cellphone in his own back yard). Yes there's a problem with black on black violence - as I've repeatedly said but you don't want to acknowledge - however there's a serious issue with endemic racism, police brutality and a shoot-first-if-they-are-black policy in the US that you don't seem to want to acknowledge. That's why people like Colin Kaepernick protest, and that's why you're passively enabling the situation to continue, by blindly ignoring the issue and enabling the status quo to continue.
To add to your argument, there are many other reasons that may contribute to black Americans committing crimes, such as racism and social injustice. I'm not sure what Goldhawk is implying but hopefully it's not that black people inherently have a greater tendency toward crime/violence.
Yes. It's a complex issue, for sure. And there are many reasons why crime happens - not least of which is a feeling that there's little choice (either through a sense of injustice or persecution, a real sense of need, peer / gang pressure, drug habits, whatever). The clear documented facts that black people in the US get treated far harsher than white people can't be denied, and shouldn't be minimised by trying to suggest, whether by accidental inference or deliberate conflation, that they might in some way deserve the treatment they get. Bottom line - when a white kid walks into a school and kills 19 people, and then gets arrested, whilst a black man walks into his back yard to make a phone call and gets shot and killed by police, you can't escape the fact that there's a major problem here.
Yes. We have to look at the bigger picture. Black people have been treated unfairly, generally speaking, for such a long time in that country (and this country) that there are embedded, long term issues that have arisen in their culture and lives due to that long period of abuse and inequality.
"Inherent" has nothing to do with it. There are issues of serious crime within the black community (US and UK) mostly involving young black men. For as long as black leaders and bleeding heart liberals excuse it, a victim culture and the violence will perpetuate. In the US, Jasper Williams knows this and wants the black community to sort its own house out. I commend him.
Looks like, sadly, that's exactly what Goldie was saying. Shame really, because that's a pathetically dismissive stance designed simply to perpetuate the situation.
I think some on here need to immerse themselves more in black culture Of course we are to blame Black Culture is just as racist as we are As are any race that isolate themselves They can carry justified chips on their shoulders from birth within concentrated culture ... what amazes me in the U.K. is the attitude of middle Englanders who have either chosen to ignore it or don’t care that much until it’s in their face of course “Our People “ it happens in every population I am saying there are sectors everywhere Our cities are multicultural but divided and naturally segregated within all with semi sub cultures The Police in the U.K. are possibly the worse in Europe imo both historically and currently They are adopting the same attitudes that are the problem in the first place. Attempting to man manage any problem they usually make it worse and that is the fault of how how our culture has gone Show me the black area of Brighton for example ? There isn’t one and he clue is in what’s the culture of Brighton In France there is massive segregation inside cities and of course big problems but the law of the land is the law of the land They hit hard to everyone here however we only hear about flashpoints it’s designed to be like that in the U.K. too imo
You can keep setting up straw men, Willy, but I've made my position plain. Look at the Jewish community. Many came here with nothing, before and after the Holocaust, and have made good lives for themselves by skill and hard work. So too, the Asians from Uganda. It's happening in parts of the black community too, but there are sections whose answer to underachievement at school is to get quick money in a gang culture through drug dealing. Risking their own lives and prepared to take the lives of others. These gang members are not victims and the most effective way influence to get them to change their ways will come from within not outside the black community.
Goldie, sadly it’s all part of the ‘blame culture’ that our society has where communities are not willing to accept any responsibility whatsoever for the situation they are in, instead finding it easier to blame someone else. This in part is stoked up by White, middle class liberals who have, in my opinion, their own agenda to divide working class communities of all colours. Meanwhile in the real world kids of 12 and 13 are selling crack cocaine on the streets and are getting stabbed by 15 (but of course according to some, it’s not their fault)
And you keep refusing to look at the thing we were actually talking about. You've not mentioned the endemic racism or overtly race-driven police behaviours that we see all the time in the US. Your position on this isn't at all clear - unless we can infer from your silence on the matter. Please be clear what you think about the issue at hand, and stop diverting it onto a black-only issue - because it's NOT a black-only issue. You'll be suggesting that slavery was the fault of black people next.
Staines, mate - stop it. Stop trying to completely and deliberately change what I'm actually saying to fit some kind of right-wing agenda. You know you're doing it.
