He was ohhhh so lucky to have finished that race...not tyres left at all. How that didn't break apart at that speed is shocking
Does that look like they had way too much camber? I thought Pirelli had set a maximum camber after tyres blowing out, that said that was maybe a couple of seasons ago. Still looks like way too much camber to me. The outside edge looks in reasonable condition. Just remembered, wasn't Ferrari one of the few teams not to bring many Yellow softs? I am not even sure they ran them in any practice!! I wonder if that was a lesson they will learn from?
Go to 7 min 22sces . Marc Priestly seems to be suggesting sauber didn't need to make a complaint . It's a safety issue .
The problem, as I see it, is that if they had investigated it was a slam dunk for a penalty and that would have wiped out any chance of a fight back. One the one hand, I think we all want close racing on the other rules are rules and should be applied to all equally. Ultimately it was a better race seeing the top 2 teams actually have a battle. The problem being that the rules were not equally applied and that doesn't seem fair no matter what position the driver or team is in the championship. I suppose as long as 'some they win some they don't' then that is the best we can get, while still trying to get an exciting race?
I take your point , but this was a SAFETY issue , can of worms ? I doubt it , but still stinks IMHO .
Go to 15:46 , think we could guess it , but interesting to hear it from the Horses Mouth , so to speak .
The race was lost on strategy. Mercedes went a lot longer and had better tyres at the end. I'm mot a fan of team orders and now inter team orders. But what can you do?
I think Max should maybe just shut his hole. Anyone else would have calmed down by now, reflected, realised that maybe they caused that accident and decided to learn from it and shown a bit of humility but not Max. Shut up Max.
Can't believe Red Bull will be to happy with his continued lack of thought for the team. Team radio: Verstappen: "I know I’m losing time to Vettel but I really don’t care.”
There's nobody there to reel him in and keep his feet on the ground. Shame really, because I fear he may never progress and just fizzle out.
Without checking the race timings, that could have cost the team points. Can you imagine anyone else on the grid getting away with putting petty squabbles ahead of the team? I was listening to the "3Legs4wheels" F1 podcast earlier, and they made an apt comparison - Verstappen is just a slightly quicker Grosjean. Their ability to score highly is significantly limited by their inability to avoid trouble. They're quick, exciting and finish well, quick, exciting and in the wall, or slow. I think Red Bull have backed the wrong driver. Hamilton has been the model of consistency so far this season, and Vettel's errors have cost him a championship lead. If Red Bull are in a close fight with Hamilton, there's no way that Verstappen races clean enough all season to beat Hamilton.
