'The League' certainly split opinion amongst punks of the day with some thinking they were somewhat cartoonish. However, there are some quality tunes on their debut album and this is another, misogynistic lyrics notwithstanding.

This year saw the start of probably the best season of Saints entire history, halcyon days indeed. Paul Weller was embarking on a fresh, new adventure with The Style Council and here is their very first single, I remember being blown away by the sound of it at the time...
