Down at Newton Abott tomorrow Noel Fehily makes his seasonal reappearance to ride just one for Harry Fry. Serosevsky is his first ride of the 2018/19 season and it looks a pretty competitive one. Won easily lto but that was a small field affair and I'm not sure what he beat. However the time before that he got beat less than a length by Dead Right conceding 6lb. This horse had the now 150 rated Next Destination well behind him in a Punchestown bumper in 2017. The trainer Harry Fry is in very good form and his Golden Birthday romped home in this race last year. I suspect he's of the opinion that Serosevsky has a similar chance racing off 125 tomorrow. I'm slightly concerned that the money pit that currently is a Lacey/Johnson combo might spoil the party however that one is returning from a 3 month break. 100/30 best price for Serosevsky.
In the Beverley Bullet I'll take Brian Smart's Mythmaker @ 8/1 ew. And in the following race Musharrif has a significant weight pull with the favourite for a 2 length beating at the same course last month. So at 8/1 a further ew punt. Good luck everyone.

I always like to follow a horse that is running up a winning streak and RED FORCE ONE certainly fits the bill in the Sandown 2:25. Josephine Gordon’s mount receives weight from the other eleven, the ground does not look like an issue and looks like an uncomplicated ride. It only rose 6lbs in the handicap for the hat-trick but needs to find a chunk of improvement off a 7lb higher mark than last time; hence the decent odds.

The Atalanta Stakes looks like a notebook race with the two Godolphin fillies: Laugh Aloud has not seen a racecourse for more than a year and Winter Lightning has not been seen since Meydan six months ago (so much for my Almanac Oaks pick!). On recent form, odds-on Veracious is clearly the one to beat. I expect that the hot-pot will win the Solario too.

Usual wealth warning: I have received information for the 4:45. Mick Easterby has two runners with Frankie aboard at Sandown today and ROLLER is expected to win. It ran a respectable race last time after a lay-off in a valuable contest at Thirsk. Interestingly, I have had no word for Rapid Applause, favourite for the opener but not seen since May. I wonder if that one is being warmed up for Ayr.

At Beverley, I fancied Team Decision in the 3:55 but the odds are short enough for me to leave it alone. In the 4:30, the hat-trick seeking PEPYS receives weight from virtually the whole field and the 4lb rise for plundering north of the border last time does not look excessive.

Surely the good doctor will have a good day at Chester. Can Powerallied win the 4:25 for the second year running? He runs off an 8lb higher mark this year with stablemate Growl the favourite.

Well, nothing spectacular, but a decent favourite bet to me is Gabrial The Devil in the 5:00 dash. Best draw, has good speed, and the 11/4 with PP looks a sporting punt. That's what I've done. Have a great day if you go!

What a marvellous horse Take Cover is. 11 year old sprinter now has 15 wins and nudging towards half a million in prize money. Went like a rocket from the start to overcome his wide draw. Ew thievery only for Mythmaker.

Well I was right that Harry Fry would have the winner just not Serosevsky. Bollox :headbang:<laugh>

This Solario Stakes is finally a decent sort of flat race that interests me of a Saturday afternoon. Too Darn Hot is regally related, was impressive on debut and could be a superstar in the making. Watan has also been mightily impressive and looks the biggest danger but you really couldn't rule any of them out. A race all about the future really but very, very interesting.

    Absolutely.
What is Chapman talking about. 'Will the horse drop down a furlong to run in the Dewhurst?'.Eh?

And get rid of that commentator. They have the best in Hoiles This muppet gets too much wrong.

Two proper 2yos seen today, Too Darn Hot and Ten Sovereigns, best weve seen since Calyx id say. Ten Sovereigns is an out and out sprinter and will win the Middle Park.

Amazing what Too Darn Hot is doing just now at 7f given hes bred to be a 1m4 3yo, can clearly see today he already wants a bit further. After the bad luck this family have had in the Oaks, they might just have a Derby winner here. Im having some of the 8/1, unlikely to see a better prospect for the race this season.

Glad I did not hear the numpty. I did hear him before the race him shouting about how you could get 11/10 while he was talking to a rails bookie that was only going Evens and was complaining that there were no punters. I have been to the Solario a couple of times and the crowd was as big as a wet Wednesday at Beverley.

Last year it threw up two classic winners – Masar (Derby) and Romanised (Irish 2000 Guineas).

Given what has happened with Gosden’s stable stars this year and the family history of setbacks, a better wager might be that Too Darn Hot is not seen on a racetrack before July/August 2019.

Don't think so, looks a sprinter but might end up running anyway. if calyx trains on I like him for guineas, injury not ideal tho. Doing a treble sea of class arc, too darn hot derby ten sovereigns commonwealth cup
