    Should this Everton lad sign.

I forgot you can only name 5 in the squad !!!

Back to the Jewell days this - utterly ridiculous.

He's had all ruddy summer..... and he's somehow ended up with SIX loanees.

Who is going to be this years Massimo Luango!?

The caveat to that is that one of those 6 is Donacien - who we have signed, but had to have him on loan until the international clearance is confirmed. Which when it is confirmed will instantly become our player even though it will be outside the window.

So anytime now, we will revert back to 5 loanees, which can all be included in a matchday squad

How longs that going to take though........ could take ages. Heard it may not happen until January.

Then you have a massive squad, especially if Bishop / Huws / Dozzell get back fit. Emmanuel and others cannot go out on loan past today.

Every chance the harmony in the squad will not be very good with various players not playing, and not being able to move on until January. Not delighted with this position to be honest.

We'll see! Hope it goes well...... have my doubts.

I thought you were allowed three transfer windows to build the squad you want.Seems now it must all be done in one window, forget using loans to fill in the gaps in the meantime<doh>

Where have you heard that? Everything I have seen posted on ITFC as well as TWTD have hinted that whilst it is a waiting game, it should be done sooner rather than later (could be any day now effectively)

Not sure where you've heard January, as that would be absolute nonsense (in my humble opinion)

Heard it off a few people - and if it's anything like Jaime Peters I would suggest it will take a while to go through.

We'll see - if it could go through before Hull, would be fantastic and that would mitigate a potential problem with 5 loanees being fine to play.

I think it's been a very interesting transfer window from Hurst - he's really changed the squad massively and put his stamp on it.

Big Al - I think he deserves three windows to be judged, and providing we stay in the division and build on it next season - he'll have ultimately done alright! However, now it's almost closed I have to confess to being somewhat underwhelmed to date.

Lets beat Norwich then things will look a lot more rosey :)

Due to the nature of this truncated transfer window, I can see why the loan market looks appealing is necessary. Lots of Championship clubs are in the same boat that we are and bringing in loans (check out the Championship BBC home page). I like how Hurst is being proactive and identifying the right areas where we need additional quality. The number of loanees is not ideal, and the spectre of Jewell’s tenure (where we were overly reliant on loanees) does loom large. However, Mick often relied on loans in years gone by. We had four in the squad last season and five the season before.

Edun and Walters look like good loanees, who bring different qualities to the team. Chalobah looks like he needs a sustained run of games, and my suspicion is we will not see anywhere near his best footballing years at the club. Jordan Graham is a gamble, but could be an inspired one (I personally doubt it). This Pennington move adds numbers to the central defence, but again is an example of a Premier League kid coming into the side to gain experience and effectively benefit his parent club. Giving that some people were so against the McAuley deal, surely this is a better alternative as you can’t get many young, talented central defenders on freebies (as we found out under the previous manager).

Hopefully both Emmanuel and Nydam will gain experience and improve as players at Shrewsbury and St Johnstone.

It’s okay to build for the future as long as your successful while your doing it.

It feels like this transfer window has been very mixed. When we appointed Hurst I had hoped he'd bring in a number of lower league younger players to improve on what we already have an also develop a number of our youngsters and what we got is 2 of our best players have left plus an experienced striker who was our 2nd top goalscorer last season, a number of I have to say decent looking lower leagues signings, 6 loan signings and a number of our youngsters out of the team or sent out on loan, not quite what I'd imagined.....

However the majority of us wanted Mick gone and for us to appoint a manager who has worked his way through the divisions and Paul Hurst deserves his chance at this level and we need to stick with him for better or worse for a few transfer windows, I have seen enough about him to see lots of positives it just hasn't happened in quite the way I expected.

I quite like the look of the majority of his permanent signings and performances have been fairly promising however we need to get 3 points sooner or later. The signings which puzzle me a little are the loans (bar Walters and Donacien) as they lack experience, infact some of our youngsters have more league experience than them, so why not play them instead?? The one thing I will say is it does feel like Hurst genuinely feels like these players have a future at town where it didn't always feel like that with Mick.

Fingers cross we get a win at the weekend, finish midtable with our youngsters coming back ready for first team football.

I think we've done ok this window.
We've bought some of the better players from the lower leagues that by this time next year will be considered Championship players.
We've sent a bunch of our players out to get regular playing time and brought in some loans to fill gaps in the squad. Not sure the likes of Chalobah or Pennington will be regular starters once we get our own players fit so I'd rather have our lads out getting experience and have somebody else's sitting on our bench doing nowt.
Next season we'll have a bunch of our boys with much more experience that I expect to be integrated into our team, which should lead to less loanees.
