Adkins on his remit and team news From my point of view, I’ve been a manager for several years now and remits change. From my point of view we did well to survive. There’s been a lot of experienced players have gone and the budget has changed too. I’m putting myself forward, I want to be here. I’m optimistic and I’m believing we’ll bring players in. Nouha and Irvine will be struggling for the weekend. Nouha is feeling is knee so we’ll see how he responds. Irvine hasn’t been able to join in, he’s a big doubt. Australia don’t have games and all national sides can request for the player to see their medical people. Adkins on Tuesday's game I want to manage in the Premier League and City could give me that opportunity. But I have to understand where we are but we need players. I spent all day with the owners yesterday and I’m going back to see him this afternoon. My role is coach and I’m trying to help everyone. We need help. On Tuesday we played the best team we played this season and we knew it would be challenging. We looked to play a different formation and I wanted to try it. I want a pathway for the youth team and we talked with the players, it was a valuable experience. We’ll work with them and the players who haven’t started regularly. They were head and shoulders above us. It highlights the strength in depth Derby have compared to us at this moment in time. Adkins on strength in depth It’s our squad of players and that was our strength in depth. We need to improve on that as well. We’re going through a difficult period and we have to cut our cloth accordingly. I really really enjoy being the Hull City manager. I need to help the players on the training ground and help them with extra players. I want supporters to be happy and winning games of football. There’s a lot of stuff we’re working towards. We’ve played some good football but we need to improve the group of players and if we don’t it will be more challenging. Adkins on Grosicki As it stood before I came in here I don’t think it’s likely that he will be gone. Many aspects go into making a deal. There’s a lot of things that go on, regardless as whether he is here or not, there is bids on the table for us to do business. We’re in the throngs of negotiation. We’re here and we’re preparing for the Derby game as well. A player could sign this afternoon but they might not sign this afternoon as well. Adkins on the transfer latest I’ve highlighted we need to strengthen. There is money on the table for players. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes. There’s things going on with Kamil Grosicki. We need to improve. We can potentially bring four loan players in and we are looking do business. When we finish this press conference I’m going to meet the owner. We’re not hiding away from the situation with Grosicki. There’s a lot of agents involved. He’s speaking to somebody as we speak. You can see now people who were available at a certain price that that is no longer the case. The head coach is here We are looking to strengthen before tomorrow’s deadline. We are looking to strengthen. Things are close. I won’t make any comments about people’s names. I would be shocked if the club did nothing.
David Burns @bbcburnsy Nouha Dicko and Jackson Irvine struggling for Saturday for @HullCity #hcafc Even the half decent players we have got aren't going to be available, what a ****ing car crash.
It's strange with Irvine. You'd think if a player has some sort of a leg injury, I dunno what's wrong with him, he wouldn't be sat for 90 minutes watching us with his feet up on the chair in front.
He's ****e and the worst thing is what he cost in this window he could have brought in Norwood, Townsend and Skalak for what he cost.
Irvines mrs looked well impressed when I whipped it out. Plus Lincoln tiger actually swopped seats when he realized I was sitting next to his mrs, he got up and moved her over. Barrier in between us. Pity cos she knew more about football than him...
**** off Chazz, I thought you was going to keep her entertained whilst I enjoyed the great football on display from Toral & Stuart!
