Clint Demsey has announced his retirement from football. Well remember my bemusement when Roy continually played him as sub through to that glorious night against Juventus. Any favourite stories about him out there? Here's a link to the Club's tribute: http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2018/august/29/clint-dempsey-retires
My nickname for Clint Dempsey was 'The Ghost'. Nobody used to see him until it was too late and the ball was in the back of the net from a late run into the box. One I remember fondly is this last minute goal against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw.
Four and a half years ago, during his loan spell back with us, Clint took part in a signing session at the club shop and my two got to meet him. For my eldest (then 10) it was the most exciting moment of his life - meeting his favourite player. Observe the slightly dazed expression in his star-struck little eyes (my eldest that is, not Clint). He's now 14 and several inches taller than me (again, my eldest, not Clint). Thanks for the memories, Deuce. We'll always have Juventus.
