    A very adventurous team selection.

    A great result.

Just a pity that we could not hold out for a clean sheet, but I guess that Rovers deserved a goal for their efforts.

Well done to McClaren and the Team. :)

My pal at the club says he, Faysal Bettache, is quality, works really hard at training and thinks he just got his squad number today as he's normally in the U18s...

Well, youngsters given a run out by the manager and have done very well. Shame there wasn’t a clean sheet too but they came through and won.
Very well done to the lads. On to the next round :emoticon-0137-clapp

BOS was great first half, faded second half. Chair looked good and both Wszolek and Smith took their chances well. In the end it was finishing that made the difference, Bristol had as many chances as us but kept conjuring ways of missing badly. Felt sorry for their fans who filled the upper school end. Good to see us win and Hall get 60 minutes but it will be a different team Saturday.

    On train home.
Got to say when I saw the team...,"we are doomed Cpt Mannering...doomed I tell you."...

BOS was magnificent and tore their full back apart..
Hall was commanding, he was obviously not match fit but was commanding, shouty, and played a few really excellent balls out of defense...he faded and was replaced by Owens which was not so good.we went down hill at that point

Ingrams was ok...I still prefer Lumley

Cousins and Wszolek in midfield coped, just.. Cousin was the "brains" of the team. He started well and faded
Chair was playing the Freeman role...good free kicks, good corners...but he has no size on him and is defensively frail.

Conor just runs and runs...made a goal and had a certain goal blocked on the line by Matt Smith. The guy is cursed!

Matt Smith scored a perfect goal from a Smyth/ Kakay cross...but other than that was barely in the game and not really interested...he also cannot get a penalty ever..( apparently it is niw illegal to award him a penalty acvording to the official referee handbook)

Rovers were poor. But failed to take any of their chances, they had at least, 3 good chances to score.......Kakay o.g. was their scorer!
We were a bit better than they were and BOS was amazing...a real star against league 1 opposition.

We are in the third round.
    We don't do cup runs...
    Enjoy it while it lasts

Beth, thanks for your detailed flash report which which is really much appreciated. :)

Of course the team was not perfect and the opposition were poor - but in the past it did not stop us from wanting to loose (I note Cardiff under Warnock lost yesterday).

There are many positives takeaways: BOS, Hall, Ingram, Kakay, none of our three midfielders played and we were ok, plus we scored 3 goals, etc.

Compared to probably everybody’s reaction in seeing the team sheet with eleven changes from Saturday, it was a great result.

McClaren possibly has more options and motivated players than he expected. (Possibly “we” as “he” may known or suspected).

Now, it will be very interesting to see what he does with this information.

The team for Saturday and the next games will be very interesting.

I will not be surprised if there are some changes to last Saturday.

That's strange as all I found was this.

It seems that you have a more refined browser. :)

p.s. What is it the trick to post photos directly in the post (not as an attachment). I seem to have forgotten, perhaps it the excitement of a potential "Cup Run"?
