The R’s defeated Peterborough United 2-0 in the first round whilst the Pirates were 2-1 winners against Crawley Town. This is the first time the two teams have met since 1980 and only the second time they have played each other in the League Cup, with the other fixture being in the fourth round back in 1972 - a tie in which Rovers progressed via a replay. QPR come into the game off the back of a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Wigan at the weekend. This is in contrast to Darrell Clarke’s Bristol Rovers side who suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Southend, leaving the Gas in 20th, just outside the relegation zone. Steve McClaren has admitted that he will rotate for this game and give some of the squad players a run-out. New signings Tomer Hemed and Nakhi Wells are eligible to feature. The Gas have made a new signing in between the sticks with Jack Bonham joining the club on a season-long-loan from Brentford. A reminder that there is no extra time this evening. The match will go straight to penalties if level after 90 minutes. please log in to view this image Head to Head Played 64 QPR wins 26 Draws 13 Bristol Rovers wins 25 please log in to view this image Manager Quotes Steve McClaren: “We want to win every game and some of the players on the fringes haven’t had an opportunity but have been training hard. We have to get the balance right as we want to win it to get ourselves another game after the international break. To end the week just gone with a win is great and we need to follow that up with one against Bristol Rovers.” Darrell Clarke: "It is a tough spell. We are having it right at the start of the season, four defeats isn't good enough. It is nowhere near the start I expected. We probably deserve a little bit more than that if I am honest with you, the games are very competitive but we have got to try and regain the trust of our supporters.” News from the Treatment Room QPR Out: Darnell Furlong (knee) Doubtful: Sean Goss (back) Bristol Rovers Out: Joe Partington, Liam Sercombe, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, Stuart Sinclair, Chris Lines (suspension) Doubtful: Tom Lockyer please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Tomer Hemed & His Wife Shunit Hemed Faragi Watch her celebrate Saturday's winner here ... please log in to view this image
Israeli women are ****ing mental and can probably kill you. I’ve no doubt we’ll carry the momentum of our glorious victory over Wigan into this and blow them away with a first half flurry and finish them off late. Prediction: 1-1 (Bristol on penalties).
Hope you are wrong. Just arrived in the C&S in prep for a massive Cup performance. Interesting to see who he puts in the pitch... hoping for a strong showing AND a proper goal threat... URsss
First game of the season for me and 2 boys. The weather looks good, is it too much to hope the same for the football?
What's Steve going to be rotating on Some would like it to be a roasting spit Shunit That's a perfect nickname for the wife
To everyone going tonight I'd like to appologise in advance. I've included us in my accumulator tonight.
You are envisaging our first team will play today. I think there may be a couple of changes. Not long to wait and find out!
Good to see Hall starting. Our mid-field trio are resting. A good reserve team. Let’s see how they perform. COYR’s!!!
Looks quite a strong starting 11 but not sure how much there is to come off the bench there if it’s going wrong, would’ve have been handy to have the new strikers there as a back up and to get a bit of match fitness if needed!
So Hair Island’s method of keeping the momentum going and ‘achieving a balance’ between this and giving squad players a go is to make 11 changes. I would imagine these blokes have never played together as an eleven before, even in training. I hope it works, but won’t be hugely surprised if it doesn’t.
Oh great. (Sarcastic) Hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Maybe they’ll try to impress. I’m sure Ingram thought he was going to have the Cup games off
