We are not alone... CARD @CharltonCARD We were disgusted to hear that Roland Duchâtelet, our billionaire owner, is no longer willing to pay for academy players to drink water or eat breakfast at the club’s training ground. #cafc
Be nice if they popped to Hull next... EFL Statement: Charlton Athletic please log in to view this image An EFL Spokesman said: “The EFL continues to note the various comments emanating from multiple sources in regard to matters relating to the day-to-day operations at Charlton Athletic Football Club. “Following a number of discussions dating back a number of weeks, the EFL plans to meet with both Charlton Athletic and the Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust to gain a full understanding of the current situation that surrounds the club. “In the intervening period, as we do with all our clubs, we will continue to monitor developments, offer any practical assistance that is available to us as we seek to protect the integrity and reputation of our competitions. “In the context of any debate relating to operational decisions taken by a club, it is important to make the point that these matters are determined by the individual Boards and Executive teams at each our 72 member clubs. We will offer support as required to assist clubs in complying with our regulations and contractual obligations.”
Great piece in the online edition of the Blackpool Gazzette. Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt wades into the owners of Blackpool FC and his views are well worth a read. If only more Chairman held his views.
There's another transfer deadline on Friday. I expect a story to appear on here soon about potential new owners.
Same, although he'd still get **** off some of our fans on Twitter, same as he does from a handful of Posh ****s. He does deal with them pretty well mind.
Has anybody tried starting a crowdfunding page for this? Might generate a bit of money for loan fees.
Cake sales are done by little old ladies for a local charity over here, usually church related. Literally no one in the UK would buy lemonade from someone standing on a street. Also, literally no one with any amount of money will buy Hull City. Even the fans.
No lemonade stand for me then ? Snot running down my nose & all that. Bollocks - another career change. Maybe coke sales rather than cake ? Not literally. I'm just a few quid short of 20 million. I need some help. Any takers ?
Just thinking about the crest debacle. Now into September and ........ nothing. Charade, shambles, lies. I've never liked the new crest, and never will. Not only because of the way it was done and the whole sorry backcloth behind the era that it's come out of. But also because of the absolute ridiculousness of the design with the 1 904. I heard a Vauxhall motors advert on the radio this morning. Since 1906 or something. I thought, so what? And then quickly turned to thoughts about our crest. 1 904. So what? Nearly all clubs are from around that time, give or take 10 or 20 years. It is absolutely nothing special, so why the hell have it as the only words on the crest? Had we be one of the first clubs formed (in 18whatever) then maybe there's something to point out, to mark, to be proud of. But 1 904 is nothing special. It's utterly ridiculous. Please just give us our previous perfect crest back, and by all means then leverage the hell out of our great, proud nickname 'The Tigers', whilst respecting our tradition by calling us by our proper name. It really should be so simple.
