Got to go to a wedding tomorrow. Is it always necessary for a regular guest to wear a tie ?? Always do usually but feel like not doing !!
I live by the rule that it's always better to be a little over dressed than underdressed. If it's a traditional church wedding I'd wear a tie. If it's an outdoor wedding or a small more intimate wedding you can probably do without. The wedding I officiated down at the beach a month or so ago some men wore full suits and others just wore polos. None of it looked out of place at the beach. Large wedding or church wedding I'd definitely do a tie though.
The actual wedding or reception? At the wedding... yes! Reception...Can't remember the last time I wore a tie. People wear jeans etc nowadays
Rule of thumb - if you wear a tie and feel overdressed you can always take it off, if you don't wear one and feel underdressed .....
Like I was trying to say if you wear a suit and tie and all the other men are in smart cas. you can take off your jacket and tie and fit right in. If you go smart cas. and everyone's in a suit, you're stuffed.
