Maybe these are the sort of players we should be looking at? Most of you think we should be signing the likes of Messi
Well we're always talking about signing lower league players with a view to selling them on, it isn't to be confused with signing the reserves of teams below us, otherwise we might as well play our kids.
Sunderland and Brentford are also interested in Doughty. If their interest is genuine, he'll be off to one of those two.
None of us thought Henriksen was a deep lying cm but he thinks he is. As he didn't like playing the attacking. Cm.
Think Doughty has scored 5 but at least 3 were pens. Left Peterborough for Swindon this summer, can he leave them again so quickly? Can you play for 3 clubs in a calendar year??
Feasibly yes. You can play for two clubs a season, the season starts on June 1st. He's only played for Swindon this season.
Unfortunately you need someone attacking into the area to stand a chance of a penalty being awarded... the way we are currently we struggle to attack the halfway line !
Its just a case now of finding a player who for whatever reason finds himself out of favour at his present club or nearing the end of his contract , and who has had no offers from elsewhere and is unlikely to do so , and is therefore so desperate for another contract he"ll join us no doubt as a last resort after all other options have failed.
I have on good authority that Darnbrough has this framed and mounted above his desk. Next to a picture of a cat hanging off a rope.
Yes, but in 1970 Rogers would really have added to the team we had. In 1991 or so no one could have done much with what would have been around them on the pitch. Though Hoddle in his managerial role would have been a step up from Dolan. As an aside, I started Grammar School in 1961. An English teacher was a new starter as well. He told us he had been working at Swindon Town whilst he waited to start the job. There was a young junior there who was really going to be something, name of Don Rogers. Remembered that a few years later as I watched them winning the League Cup at Wembley. Don't know what the teacher was doing there. Can't have involved anything physical. He was about the size and build of Don Estelle.
..... and who his current parent club will let us have on loan until January for nothing or at least next to nothing (just thought I better finish it off for you). #wehavetobemindfulofthebudget(ofnextonothing)tocreateasuistanableclub
