1. TECATE please log in to view this image The one, the only, Tecate. Undoubtedly the most pleasing and refreshing of our selection, Tecate inspired one taster to say, “It’s almost like a Pilsner — like a beer in its correct form.” It offered up a gentle aroma of sweet corn, followed by Champagne-like effervescence and a lightly bitter finish. Our collective favorite, Tecate looms large, any day of the week.
Yeah. I think that was my problem. I had only ever had bad tequila before this. This stuff was good. I wasnt expecting to like it. None of the nasty after taste of the cheaper stuff.
It's one of those drinks that is stinking horrible stuff until you fork out a bit of cash. Grappa is the same, evil stuff until you pay a bit and then it's pretty good.
It is Coors "something or other". Same brewery, made in same places and I know Carling is sold here just labeled something else. I was pretty sure someone once told me that it's called Coors on this side of the Atlantic and Carling on that side it might have a label like "Coors Light" or something like that... I don't know... All the girlie largers taste about the same to me. I only like ales . .(with a few exceptions).
You are right that coors owns the Canadian company that owns carling black label but carling is not distributed in the USA. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carling_Black_Label
I don't think it's Coors as we have that over here and yes it's called Coors light. It's ****ing horrible just like Carling but is a different drink.
The Carling thing is a running joke on here but I will say that it's a light lager and isn't nasty but just a bit tasteless, I would rather Carling than these British brewed fake European beers like San Miguel and Kronenbourg that taste nothing like the originals, they seem to think that adding some kind of bitter taste to them makes them European and they are truly terrible.
It's been years since I last had a Carling. I probably couldn't tell it appart from a Bud Light. There are very few lagers to me that have a taste worth drinking. Lager to me always seemed to be beers for when you don't want to taste beer. Just skunky water. Its like tea made from a thrice recycled teabag. Or coffee from a recycled k cup.
So it's basically beer flavoured La Croix? The next time I have a lager it will be at the Cheese if I ever make it there. I will go there one day, drink a carling and talk to RHC without him knowing it is me.
