Got to agree with him about the lack of reaction last night. Somehow seemed more worrying than the 7-1.
Two things. 1. I am not at all liking Jordan's use of the word 'demise'. I have no counter which is even worse. 2. It sounds like a pre-negotiation buyers pitch. Pointing out why the business is only worth X when it's supposed to be valued at 3X. Very eloquent and completely accurate.
I’ve always thought of Mr Jordan as arrogant and self absorbed. It is sad that I struggle to find any reason to contradict anything he says here though. It’s a horrible time to be an R’s supporter that’s for sure.
l’m feeling quite at home to be honest. As a club, we seem to be forever in the poop one way or another, so l guess that just makes those moments of sunshine & bliss, all that much better. We can only hope we bottom out soon and find some positives to latch onto and enjoy some more good times in the not too distant future. Until then, it’s frustration & madness all the way.
With Wigan thumping Stoke away last night - I don’t see much on the near horizon of Saturday afternoon providing any remission.
Jordan is very articulate and I quite like listening to him even though you can tell he is very arrogant. I admired his stance against agents when he was at Palace although ironically that probably cost him a few bob.
Nowt wrong with arrogance imo as i believe it’s linked to confidence Posted that link yesterday also he is right imo especially re SM who inside the industry seems to be disliked by his fellow managers SM Now there is arrogance without substance imo as he plays out his delusional image of himself on yet another club I say that because really I am very much for keeping any manager over time as I feel stability is key at any club ... maybe success comes from faith ? Most clubs who swap their set up every five minutes struggle to retain image and style ... ours has been destroyed imo ... there are still a lot of people fond of QPR imo we are lucky in that respect In terms of SM however I haven’t seen any change to superior coaching that was promised to change our style in play ... one of the big things that he claimed he would do I see massive gaps all over the pitch basic stuff imo ,no pressing no expression or desire to win the ball back so far teams are easily playing through us Goal threat I believe is still there I seriously do as I rate the smyths and Sylla and Washington will hit 1 chance in ten if he composed himself ... he doesn’t score clean goals ever but he tries Eze looks good enough imo Our midfield can still be the best in the division It’s important there to control that area it’s basic stuff but at the moment they are all nowhere near the ball ... we know from last season they can be Any defence in this league that faces clean play against them is going to look exposed The confidence saps away from any back five very quickly in any game again that is basic stuff . Our defence is exposed badly How SM has a job I do not know As SJ said look what he did at Newcastle ? Remember that ? It was comical then The manager that is SM is a fraudster Get rid and do it quickly while there is time Anyone will do and you will see our club instantly improve Four defeats outplayed in each game tells a story and Wigan are next ? They could rip us apart at the moment as they are playing with high confidence Come on ex England manager tackle Wigan from League One that’s the challenge and it’s not rocket science I will be first to apologise if he suddenly gets it right but Wigan can defend and are good at it as City found out last season and Stoke last night I am betting he will carry on with his own agenda and Wigan will play through us in a combination of ways
Agree 100%. Also, even those of us who hoped he would be an upgrade in coaching always had reservations about whether he was best as a number 2. Add in the rumours that he doesn't mix with the players and likes to travel separately etc and he's probably lost any respect they may have had for him. If that's the case it can only end one way and we need to get rid and move on while we still have a chance of staying up.
Wigan will be a big test, they're on a high and have a winning mentality. Their manager Paul Cook is destined for big success, got Portsmouth up from L2 and Wigan from L1 last season, no mean feat...
There seems to be an issue between managing and coaching that SM can't quite master. In hindsight, after the Preston game, I mentioned our warm up. It looked boring, tedious and the players didn't seem to be communicating never mind enjoying the occasion. I mentioned it to my lad that their seemed little in the way of team spirit even though it was only a warm up. I had high hopes for SM, but I also thought he may have had the opportunity to bring a couple of players in and not doss around the scrap heap begging for any spares. I also mentioned we are 5 or 6 players away from competing at this level. I also think I was wrong on that.... .more like 7 or 8.
True it seems very sad Legend in his own lunchbox Has the chance to be our worst of all time But of course I hope not I want Rangers to do well as we all do and fans are not always right I don’t like him much but that’s not a good excuse but was hoping to see a instant effect on the team and I have been very shocked the basics aren’t there
Not so sure our players are that bad at the moment if you were to compare them one against one with a lot of Championship teams. The vibe you picked up on is 100% correct as we can now all see the effects in our play. It’s the gaps I just can’t understand Maybe if we were attack attack attack I could excuse it but we aren’t He claims we are playing football through the midfield but I don’t see it especially without the ball To chuck on three attackers in the SU game looks like desperation to me ML, JS and LF have it them collectively to run any football match imo Eze looks to be a real promise as he has time on the ball and the natural skill to find space Big Smith is without doubt a great asset in this league The German looks lost as does JB but lads they are exposed so much we aren’t pressing the ball It’s the system imo
Been in discussion with mates who predicted SM and getting some real stick. How SM and players at BAHA have adapted to the pressing in packs and it worked well against United. They knew United can score in most games so adopted that in the game We had a lot of that under IH albeit without anywhere near the class or disapline Our midfield players are respected by others at our level it seems Our answer given to us after the calamity of four very bad games: We can’t score and we can’t defend Two areas yet missing the core faults May of well said the grass is green and the sky is blue
Agree with some and disagree with other points. Smith isn't a big asset in my opinion. He's just an option no more no less. It's natural for players who have a big lump up front to try lump it to the lump. It's our downfall if we want to play passing football, but I don't think we have the players to retain possession very well anyway.
Brolly Boy is just another one of a bucket-load of also-ran managers that will always find work up and down the Leagues. All ex-players with little or no renown on the pitch, all in their 50's or 60's, all of them white, and probably financially stable enough not to really worry if the job goes tits up and they get fired. It's true to say Arsene Wenger fits into this description but I think he is the exception and not the rule! The likes of Moyes, Allerdyce, Pardew, Pulis, McClaren etc etc lurch from club to club lasting a few years if they are lucky, a few months if not. I am sure the board at QPR have prepared their statement giving their backing to SM but would also not be surprised if they haven't already put the feelers out for his replacement should results continue to be so poor. It's probably been said before that losing isn't always the problem but the way you lose is. Being done 1-0 in a tightly fought contest can be taken on the chin but capitulating and getting spanked with a shrug of the shoulders isn't on. I'd tolerate losing to Wigan if the team show some backbone and a desire to compete.
Set plays Bob imo Winning free kicks as we all know vital as are corners without Smith we have zero threat Smith in open play I agree not effective Have we seen this new attacking football yet ? maybe a bit but the gaps mate are crazy You should be able to get that across since May when he joined even if it’s just a theory of how to play? Bassong FFS he hasn’t played since 2017 I read to partner the German ? Can anyone see that? Identifying areas of weakness what now ? Club has lost the plot big time
I would remove Pulis from the list he has a way of shutting up shop at any club imo Has to be the best manager to do that I can think of regardless of players We are -11 in four games god help us if we beat Wigan
This was in The Sun today (was in a Greasy Spoon - I don't buy it, honest!). I'm somewhat amused that the 'paper' that coined the "Wally with the brolly" monicker believes McClaren deserves more respect. but its an interesting article nonetheless. Whilst I have some sympathy for Schteve, he is where he is in his career through no accident. Just because he used to take to the training ground field with Beckham, Giggs, Scholes etc. doesn't mean a jot now. He's ****ed up with England, Derby, Forest, Newcastle etc. and is therefore a great fit with a basket case like Rangers. A manager on his way down for a club on its way down. They are right. Paul is right. QPR are broken and that fat twat Fernandes is the main incompetent culprit for this. I'm glad the idiot has lost a stack of moolah doing so, or there wouldn't be any justice here. My fears for the future of QPR are growing.
