glad someone sees what I mean on wijnaldum. keep the ball. rule 1. Milner ran himself ragged though. palace were good but lacked a player who could.move it from mcarthur forward.
What is encouraging that we didn’t hoof the ball as often when under pressure like we normally do. Alisson Gomez Trent VVD and Robbo are all really good on the ball, Gini is strong and confident on the ball and Keita is a baller. Refreshing to see us play with composure
I liked what I saw from Alisson. Caught the ball well from corners and crosses under pressure, and good with his feet. Nice save from the free kick. Looks good
Alisson is upgrade, upgrade, and upgrade from Mignolet and Kirus. I wonder how many goals would have conceded in two games Kirus or Mignolet are goal.
dunno. first game probably zero. I couldn't say in second. the two chances alissson had to save one was flagged offside in the end but you know refs. if it went in he might not flag. the free kick.. I dunno. good save I wouldn't say the others couldn't. none of this accounts for the confidence he gives back.4 though.. for all we know v palace they might have sat off 5 yards and just invited pressure. really... without lovren who klopp has had a go to about sitting too deep as well? I couldn't say what impact alisson has really had. I can say him and vvd exude confidence and calmness and this is good.
The freekick against Palace; it was bent around the wall so on Alisson's opposite side and it was going right in thetop corner. He made it look easy!
Mignolet could pull off some excellent stops as well. It's the assuredness of Alisson that is making the difference imo.
but are you 100% sure neither mingolet nor karius could stop it. I could not hand on heart say it. imo you won't find too many saves that are absolute wow moments or world class to point to. for.me it's more about the confidence the whole.team gets. the defence can push up, that makes whole team more compact. that makes it easier win ball back higher up and quicker and harder for these teams to play forward. mingolet certainly didn't allow that and karius was scary so while he was better at coming out he was an accident waiting to lose the cl final. my view is alisson impact won't be in crucial saves. and it's the same for vvd. You might point to a few headers but the organisation he puts in and how he takes the lead allows everyone else just do thier job.
Alisson playing sweeper is like having 11 outfield players. That evens it up when #bentasfuck refs tackle our players and start counter attacks.
That's the world's ****test argument right there. You can't 100% say I wouldn't have been better than Mohammed Ali had I taken up boxing
sigh... utter bollocks. compare 3 professional goalkeepers making a save from a free kick or a fat batard (blad) with a love of lfc to thw most inspirational boxer ever. I think I can make that call.
How many times have we seen keepers take up odd positions between the sticks after a wall has been organised. Too far left or right. I looked at Alissons position just before the free kick was taken, because it was in a very dangerous area. His positioning was perfect.
I felt that a couple frees in the games over weekend keepers stood behind wall. I'm sure there was one in city game where ok it was a great strike and keeper was **** anyway but he positioned himself in such a way it was impossible to make a save
Yeah, its fine to slightly favour the side that the wall isn't covering but some keepers make it too easy for the free kick taker.
oh I can. You ain't 6 foot and he was 6 foot 4inch. you might weight like a heavyweight but you have muscles like a a featherweight. now if you said you could be the world's greatest middleweight if only.. well just maybe. but hey.... i'd tell and fat kid he was ****.. I like to ruin dreams. now... why not just admit karius and mingolet both probably could make that save. ergo there's not one solitary save that someone can point to to say alisson is saving us goals.
