Morning Elland Couldn't agree more about Berardi even though as you said he's being used as a square peg in a round hole,i think this highlights how urgently we need cover at c/b....
Morning wf10, I suppose Berardi is more of a utility player, but it would be nice to have two specialist centre backs in their natural positions all season.
Like the sofa king I had been conscious we’d not been behind in a game. In all the detail, the most important thing for me was the team showed guts. We came from behind not once but twice, we lost the captain before kick off and had to blood a rookie, we were playing a physically strong team and we looked second best for the first half hour, had to take off our DM as he was at risk of being sent off .... etc etc ...... and we got a decent result. I’m slightly disappointed we could not consistently play our pressing game but we were away against one of the better teams in the league
I agree, it would be great if we could have a bartley/jansson type c/b pairing, at least we get 110% effort from ailing & Berardi.
Morning all. I've mentioned before I would have liked to see another CB at least, last night with all the injuries we now have in that area just highlighted that. Swansea was the biggest test we have faced and we weren't at our best or strongest so to show the character we did and see the young lad Shackleton thrown in at the deep end and do reasonably well was a real positive. BPF will only keep improving, he's still young and did well imo too. Last season we would have completely caved in during that game. My concern is that we are now playing players out of position and Bielsa is getting 100% out of them (and tbf they are doing ok), how long can this last and can we beat teams as good as or stronger that Swansea if we have injuries like this in the future? I'd definitely like to see 1 or 2 real quality loans now that would be better than our current stop gap solutions.
Broke in a new sofa last night too for the new season, last seasons took a serious kicking please log in to view this image
LEON BRITTON DROOLS OVER JAMIE SHACKLETON please log in to view this image Leon Britton has hailed Leeds youngster Jamie Shackleton on Sky Sports for his contribution to the team’s 2-2 Championship draw against Swansea City on Tuesday night. Speaking at half-time and in the immediate aftermath of the match on the live Sky Sports coverage, the former Swansea midfielder Britton was impressed by the performance of Shackleton on his full league debut, highlighting his role setting up Kemar Roofe to make it 1-1 “I thought the young lad Shackleton did very well when he came in,” Britton told Sky Sports. “He did brilliant for the Roofe goal. Leeds play this expansive game with the full-backs high and wide. “They worked the ball out wide very well and Shackleton put in a fantastic ball for the man in form, Roofe. A great bit of one-on-one play and a great cross.”
I don’t believe that’s a genuine photo of your new sofa. The positioning of the bedside table would mean you’d have to stretch behind your head to reach your drink and I’m pretty sure that’s beyond you. FAKE NEWS!!
I don't like offering advice but I think some posters would enjoy watching our team if they looked at how well the team is playing instead of concentrating on mistakes. Lets see how good this team can be before we start dismantling it.EVERYONE makes mistakes and we are top of the championship. Enjoy it.
Hi Duke. The key word being team. We succeed or fail as a team, anyone can have an off day and to start singling An individual out as some like to do is in my book counter productive that's why I won't comment on the individual. Always the team for me, good bad or indifferent. They showed guts last night against a difficult side, good on em.
Showed we need another central defender. I think Pontus would have handled Mcburnie a lot better than Ayling. You could see there plan, Fer was immense for them. We couldn't handle his power and we were exposed in the centre of the pitch. I was impressed by Baker, he grew into the game and I can see him playing well with Klich and Saiz. I think Bielsa is looking for a Fer type player, shield the defence and bring the ball out of defence aggressively. I like the look of Harrison but he will need some time to adjust. I think he offers more than Alioski who remains a little lightweight in my view. Finally I was impressed with Bamford, he is very different to Roofe but in a match where the opposition sits back I think he will score more and trouble the defence more. Here's to the weekend.
Afternoon Simon, must admit, I was hoping for a bit more from Harrison; he seemed to get frustrated, and their wasn't much fluency to his play.
I tho Don't think he had much space was generally hugging the line. I am sure with time in the team he will start to produce.
Ells ratings Peacock Farrell 7.2 Shackleton 6.7 Douglas 7.1 Ayling 6.2 Berardi 7.8 Phillips 5.5 - Baker 7 Hernandez 8 Klich 6.9 Saiz 7.1 Alioski 6 - Harrison 6.5 Roofe 7.8 - Bamford 7
Of course we do.i want to win this league and not go into the play offs. I managed to watch last night just missed pablos goal as my stream froze.then i fell asleep and woke up to find we had held on. If we had two decent center backs last night swansea would not have scored.Bamford looks an intelligent player and baker promising. I enjoyed not losing and cant wait to see them live at brum game.
For those disappointed with our away draw at unbeaten ex-Prem Swansea (I’m not having a go at anyone on here btw, I’m thinking of some of the prats on FB), it could be a lot worse: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/45271994
