SSN said at some point last night that we signed him in loan from fulham. Can't see it anywhere official now though. Thoughts? We withdrew interest when got situ? Or a case of our fantastic official website not fit for purpose?
WHY IS THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE SO BADLY RUN ...they need a few tips from our team...seems the only part that is regularly updated is the money making side lol
From what i've heard, we have signed him on a loan deal until January but we'll find out today if it's all gone through.
Just after midnight, the 'Transfer-Tavern' on Talksport went through a run-down of players signed by various clubs. A player was mentioned as moved from Fulham to us, but I didn't catch the name. Obviously they were talking about Halliche, so surprised this morning it wasn't completed. Let's just hope all the paperwork was lodged in time & it is just clearance..........
BBC Web site: Swansea City have added Rafik Halliche on loan from Fulham until January, subject to Premier League clearance. The Algeria centre-back was the third defender signed by manager Brendan Rodgers on transfer deadline day. Halliche, who is 25 on Friday, follows the permanent signings of Fede Bessone from Leeds and Darnel Situ from Lens
Apparently, the problem was a work permit. He is Algerian, so he needs a work permit for a transfer. But he obviously has a work permit for Fulham, and I don't think he needs to get a permit for a loan, so it should just be formalities.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14744902.stm? Confirmed now, subject to clearance. Let's hope he's a goodun eh? Can't say I know anything about the dude...
After arguing with a bluebird in work today about you 'poor' signings i put it this way. He played in WC and kept Rooney quiet so if he can produce half as good as that for us then i'm happy. So i thought i would look him up a bit and found the highlights for the WC game. Made a couple of good challenges and defensive decisions by the looks of it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/matches/match_23/default.stm extended version can be found from this link too
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/groups_and_teams/team/algeria/rafik_halliche bit of a write up on him
Yeah he needed the work permit sorted for the loan (not a problem due to him being a mainstay for Algeria) and now it depends on international clearance. The official site doesn't announce deals that aren't fully done so expect news when the clearance is granted (which shouldn't be a problem). Great signing for us and in a position we needed a bit of strengthening.
