do you know what, if he actually believes some of the shyte that were in his answers then we really do have problems. If we have the 4th highest wage bill what the hell are these players earning. Is he actually saying that he sold off all the quality, that was left, and replaced them with players on the same money? If that is so then he really has got a problem because the 6 brought in are totally inferior in class and quality that those he got rid of. If he has hired the bloke Darnborough to see through all the transfers then the club is doomed. By offering the wages that they have for these new players the club has most definitely been seen off. They are all Div 1 standard at best. It also says a lot about his knowledge of football and players, which strikes me as rock bottom.

In no way do I mean this as any back-handed 'happy with status quo' comment at all, but looking at two other suitors:

Chien Lee - invested in Barnsley
Dai Yongge group - invested in Reading.

Both made no (apparent) positive impact at all.

There's probably a greater story, perhaps a positive one, to be told about the above but perhaps the one-that-got-away was Grieve.

Or perhaps, more likely, we've had no one 'worthy' step forward.

I can't but dream that Grieve + Bruce and we'd still be in the top flight.

 

Only read this thread quickly but why would a prospective owner talking to a manager and a fan's group put them off buying the club. Surely they realised beforehand that they would need to spend some money on players. Is this more about the Allam's wanting complete control over everything and resent a buyer asking questions of anyone else.
