Surely a well organised march in that area could be viable couldn’t it? Beech Tree to Wheatsheaf, then on to Swan & Cygnet?
I really don’t know the area but they appear to be solid sounding, recognisable places for us Marshalls to Marshall the troops.
Each venue with seating and refreshments too...very inclusive for protesters with mobility issues (or a thirst...)
You need sustainable refreshments, always. By taking the protests out of Hull it would also mean our issues with the owners are been voiced to a wider audience.
Your opinion counts for everything. It helps us realise you're a ****. Anyone who calls another fan a scab for not agreeing with them is a ****. It's that simple. You're the blinkered one who refuses to understand and accept why other people do different things to you, and want to go to games. You're also wrong if you think the Allams can be shamed into leaving the club. In fact, given the other thread on Ehabs insta, I'd say you're wildly delusional if you even think it's a possibility. I respect Assem for everything he did for us at the beginning, and everything he's done for people in Hull. Do I like him? I don't know him. I know enough about him to respect him though. Ehab is a lot like you, he's delusional and a **** and I don't like him. The only way the Allams will leave is if someone comes up with the money they think their business is worth. Protest don't work, far too few would be prepared to join in to make them worthwhile. Boycotting achieves nothing. If you want to do anything, rather than calling other fans scabs, figure out a way to raise a big bag of money for that broker fella. I was thinking back to our ownership tribulations over the years and wondered what the difference is now. I think back then, no internet, plus football, and the club was everything to a lot more people. If you weren't happy about something, you got off your arse and did something, and we did, in our multitudes. Nowadays, football doesn't mean the same thing to as many people, and if you want to know owt, you just nip online. If you want to protest, you tweet about it, or rant on a forum.Sign of the times aint it?
Shame I thought you had the necessary to do the deed. Seems doing nothing is your forte. Well done you're doing it well.
I do think a total boycott would have some effect, yes. But i also know it's never going to happen, in Hull anymore than in Blackpool or anywhere else. Football supporters support football teams. Asking them to stop is a big ask for some of them. So what else can we do? Play the long game. Fight individual battles as they arise (name change, concessions, Airco Arena, etc). Accept defeat when it comes, celebrate and remember victory when it happens. Wait for the Allams to **** off. Reset. If you think there is something that can be done right now, instantly, to make the Allams leave, you're wrong. It takes patience and tenacity.
This sentence is wrong ...... boycotting makes me feel better. I agree with the rest though, I have friends who still go, I'd never call them.
Sometimes people are just talking about the situation. They're not necessarily telling people they should stay away. Iv'e fallen into that trap myself.
Newcastle fans hate their owner as much as we do but still get a full house every week. Same with Man Utd and Liverpool, the owners aren't exactly popular. Though, with those two success and competing in the PL every season and spending millions makes the full houses easier to understand. Can quite understand why fans think that they aren't going to be driven away by our owners.Funny, I am not bothered about going now when we have had the most successful period in our history yet when we were going down to division 4 for the first time in our history playing in front of small crowds, sometimes 3 or 4 thousand I and all the other lads I knew wouldn't miss a match. Most carried on all through the Dolan years. Most don't go now. We used to feel a connection, it was our club no matter what. That feeling has gone now for a lot of fans.
That feeling has gone for me. I want it back, but I can't see it ever happening. Football has 'done one' for me. I couldn't ever have thought I'd say that. I think this forum has become just a habit.
On a personal level, sure, and I understand why. Each person should do what feels right for them, 100%. In regards to affecting or influencing the Allams, it doesn't achieve anything.
Whilst the parachute payments are coming, possibly. It's interesting that now the payments are due to finish, the Allams attitude to our name seems to be changing. Lip service to the fans? because of low gates and falling revenue? maybe. Who knows?
Completely agree. I know me boycotting has no impact on the Allams whatsoever, but at least I am standing by my principles. Stopping concessions for children and pensioners was too far for me, by not going I feel I am not agreeing with that (And so many of their other decisions). I don't want anyone to say I did nothing and just accepted those changes. Do I miss out by not going to Hull City? Of course I do, I loved going but it's not worth it to say that I watched as the Allams slowly killed our club and picked on the vulnerable in society who can't stand up for themselves. Some would call me an idiot for stopping going when I love it but I just can't go whilst they are there.
Yeah I'm that blinkered my son still attends and I haven't even suggested to him he stops going as part of a boycott. And I'm not deluded, I know a few others who also think that a massive shaming of the Allams would hasten their departure. I just don't think anyone in Hull feels strongly enough about it. You make a lot of assumptions - likening me to Ehab? You seem to like name calling. So much bravery. I bet in real life you are a billy no mates with a small front bum. See I can do it too.
Of course thats why. Changes being made as slowly as they can but just enough to make the fans feel they matter (but most see thru it). "Doing whats morally right ..... for me".
You said fans who go are selfish. You said fans who go are scabs. You just said your lad goes and that’s his choice. You said you know others who think a boycott would shame the Allams. You then say it wouldn’t work. I have plenty of friends ta. Brave? On a forum? Lol bless ya. Front bum? Are you 12? Like I said, you’re delusional, you’re also clearly either confused or just full of ****.
