I may be misunderstanding your point yet again .... but are you suggesting that you think we only do life bans ?

As for the other matter re a PM in 2016 .... I have looked at Jan 16 & the only one I can find between us was a thank you message from you .... so yes please forward the other conversation so I can have a read .... seriously I'm a super-mod so I cannot possibly remember all the conversations I have had on here .... or all the posters who have received bans
Are you suggesting you do other bans? To date, us ordinary punters have had to work out any bannings ourselves. There may well have been varied bans, but no-one ever told us about it. We only work out who's missing. Is the secrecy a Masonic thing?

I'm sure I've announced all the other previous bannings. Chips fans heard about his ban first this time I believe due to other outlets.

You're getting there, Richard. Doesn't have to be strict. If someone is peeing in the street all of the time & ignoring your warnings, is it right to issue the death sentence? (Awful analogy, I know <sorry>). But if you issued a short ban of a couple of days after the warning was ignored, it might sink in with some. Another repeat, a longer ban. And so on. Most might get the message before a 6 month ban, I'm sure. Then again .... :) I think the word I'm pushing here is proportion. The transparency message seems to have been acknowledged by this late OP, for which I'm grateful.

This is dragging on. It's a 5 min conversation in the pub. I think we're making progress. I can see our mods thinking. Sadly, our supermods think their attempts of humour & avoidance are more important than addressing an issue. But that's supermods for you. Hopefully we'll never need to use them again.
I'm listening m8,if we had had some cool down time(1 or 2 week ) locking on peoples accounts,no one would have ever needed banning IMO.

Of course we do other bans .... 24 hrs , a few days, a week, a month etc .... depending on what is required .... when people return we ask that the mods keep an eye & request further bans where necessary

We do board bans or site bans .... bans aren't taken lightly .... they are requested by board moderators & discussed where necessary

Have never felt that as a super-mod I have needed to explain the actions taken .... as your mods have requested them

IMO Chesh and maybe I've said this before. If a certain poster had of been banned for a week years ago, this ban mightened have happened. It's like being in work, you get a verbal, then a written etc etc.

Why take things to PM ?

WJ raises some very important issues which quite a few of us are interested in and might like to contribute to.

Perhaps if things were just addressed in a more serious fashion from the beginning then we wouldn't have to make posts to finally get your attention.

Because there are some things I want to speak to WJ about that has no relevance to you or anyone else

You're 100% right, there was no kicking off about the ban for days, only when people realised there was no time scale, did everything go to ****.

To pick up on your last point, if you're saying that the process is for our mods to ask supermods to instigate a ban, how come our mods have had to fight supermods to prevent certain bans, then? Are you saying that they're requested bans then changed their minds? Doesn't make sense.

And if you do indeed do these bans, where's the evidence to support it? How many bans have we had on the Leeds site in the last year? And how many of them were communicated? Apart from the disproportionate sine die bans we worked out for ourselves, we have no idea about any other bans. Is it al a secret for some reason? Some might suggest you were making it all up.

Message received and understood.

Then you can hide behind the non disclosure of pms should you so wish.

Nice to see your serious side matron.

You can believe what you like .... I am honest

I believe that to be true.

So could you try to answer why a poster on our board was banned just over 2 years ago and to this day has no idea why he was banned ?

I met him for the first time yesterday and was shocked to hear this from him.

Also the only reason his ban was lifted was because Whitejock asked if that would be a possibility otherwise he would still be banned.

leeds60 is his name on here.

Wrong, 60 was told. At first there was a miscommunication e.g the ban went through quicker than expected. He had serveral warnings as did chippy at the time.
