We sell because we have to. How is that hard to grasp?

Not sure I'd agree that ALL of the foreigners will turn out to be mediocre (Leitner/Trybull/Zimmerman are integrating well - as for Hernandez ....) and DF is slowly bringing through youth players (Lewis, Aarons). I'd also like to see Godfrey and Thompson given more game time

I agree that we're more likely to be flirting with relegation than we re top 6.

That's a bit like saying a player who provides an assist is the actual goal scorer, if Watling had not sold to Delia, we would have been dead and buried

There's always the possibility Watling could have sold to somebody slightly more minted but who also had a soft spot for the club and who had aspirations that they could fund? :emoticon-0112-wonde

There´s always straws to clutch at Rick, I know, I´ve been doing it for years <laugh>, but it seems to me that what Norwich needed more than anything else this season, was a good, solid start. A run of 5 or 6 deadly dull 1 nil wins, although possibly not suiting you, would have been just what the doctor ordered, in my opinion. Fans would then have been euphoric, because contrary to popular belief, good results with poor play, NOT good play with poor results, is what lifts the terraces, players would have been confident, and one thing could possibly have lead to another. Instead of that, we come out all guns firing, with expansive football, while forgetting to defend, which is only ever going to end up one way. Now fans are already getting itchy and critical, players and manager becoming nervous, and we could very easily find ourselves, still with only one point, after the first 5 games, which would give us a mountain to climb almost before the season has started.

Get some results on the board first, then start to play some attractive football, that´s far easier than playing attractive, losing football, and then hoping to turn that into results.

Results, not performances, will always be the true parameter of whether a Club has improved or not, so in that respect, I´d say Farke´s first season has been, if not a disaster, then at least a colossal disappointment, and he very quickly needs to pull something out of the hat, or I fear the natives will start to turn.

They were always there and becoming restless.

I agree with almost all of your analysis up until you distance yourself from the critics.
I was sat at Stanstead watching ssn yesterday and thought well a point is a point only to find out later we choked again .
Winning is a habit and so is doing what we are doing .
Fielding a side with one Englishman is great if you have global superstars ,unfortunately we don't.

??? Don´t quite understand the distancing bit, Donuts. I haven´t wanted Farke here since day one, and I think I´ve made that pretty clear on several occasions :) and, totally agree with you, defeats breed defeats, in the same way that wins breed wins.

As others have said, Rhodes knocks that penalty away against WBA, and we hold out yesterday, then we're not having this conversation. Fine margins like that are the nature of football I guess.

Farke highlighting the underlying stats comes across as clutching at straws, but he has a point. We're creating more chances and there's more players involved in that than before. We're also yet to see the best of McLean and Buendia, and only just have our first choice LB available.

We need to be able to keep a clean sheet though. If Farke can't fix that, and I have real questions as to whether he can, we're not going to finish top half, never mind anything better.

It's true that the three games so far all turned on the finest of margins and could easily have produced seven or even nine points. Those margins depended on individual player actions like the missed penalty, palming a shot into the net, defensive mistakes, and so on. We had chances to win the game yesterday, but we didn't take them. Is that the manager's fault? Was the line-up wrong? Was the formation wrong? No in both cases.

Yes we need points now and we have the means to get them. The three attacking front men all have two goals each already. We have a settled defence now that Lewis is back and a functioning midfield as well. We also have a number of young players ready for the fray and that bodes well for the future. I still feel that this squad is capable of consistent good results. The players now need to take their chances. The next two home games are the chance to get momentum going.

Fine margins recently perhaps but 15 wins in 49 league games since August 2017 is simply not acceptable for any club let alone one of our stature.
I really wanted this new set up to work but unfortunately it’s failing miserably so far. Lest we forget we have been down a similar route before with Hamilton and Rioch, that went well didn’t it? Unless there is a marked improvement within the next 6-10 games I can see him gone due to fan pressure. Believe it or not I really hope DF turns it around but I’m not holding my breath.

Haven't trawled back to verify this, but Dan is reliable enough.

Surprised myself with one of the stats I dug out for last night's @QuestTV @EFL highlights show on #NCFC. Just ONE away clean sheet in 2018. You don't challenge for the top six with a defence like that.

Only problem with that argument is that nobody had stepped in before Delia rescued the Club with only 2 hours to spare!!

We still need the fullback situation sorted. Jamal is making his way back and Ivo should be in training again after having a stomach bug. I think Marshall belongs further forward, not at right back.
