Sunderland fan in peace Just wondering what you guys think of our loanee and what you might expect from him?
Lots of potential and talent, but rarely gets himself into the position to score goals. If you give him enough opportunities he'll knock a few in, though.
Quite happy he has gone on loan rather than sold him, he has a lot of potential and needs game time to prove whether he can deliver and i like that fact if he does deliver for Sunderland he can come back to us (seeing as we will lose Park in 2 years and I really do believe Chamackh is now useless for some reason)
as much as we mock him, if you play him in the middle, he has all of the attributes to be a good striker and could do pretty well, he just needs to lose that cocky ego.
And didn't he do really well for Bruce when he played for Birmingham - so maybe Steve can get the best out of him/play a system that suits him. ON form and with games i think he can hit 10-15 goals for you.
Good player. Under-rated by Arsenal fans. Play him through the middle and he scores goals. Would rather Arsene had kept him than Chamakh. Nicknamed "Big Game Bendtner" after the goals he scored a couple of seasons ago - loads of last minute winners / equalisers that were absolutely essential.
Agree, I would have kept him and loaned out Chamakh who looks really out of sorts at Arsenal at the moment. Bendy is a very good player, a big ego to go with it, but if he can get his head right, he's a top player. Always popped up with important goals for Arsenal. I think Sunderland have done well to get him.
Will score goals if played through the middle, is good at being in the right place at the right time.
Give him the opportunities and he'll miss...and then he'll score a difficult one. So glad we did not send him to Stoke.
I think he will suprise many how good he really is. Unforatunely he didn't quite fit our system or get the service. But playing in a more traditional system like your own where he gets proper crosses, playing in the middle, he should thrive. I am definately considering him for my FF team!
He did score alot of goals for us (think it was 14) when rvp was injured and he was our only striker a few years ago. I think hes quality but doesnt suit our current formation if rvp is fit and playing cf
He will score for sunderland, but he isnt good enough for us. You all say he is good, but then whenever he plays he ust gives the ball away lile chamakh. Those two break down all our passing moves.
Also Walcott and Arshavin are not wingers. They hardly cross the ball and when they do, it's without conviction. This is one thing in our game we desperately need to change. Cross the ball and have someone in there to get it!!!!

I think the good thing with his move is the level of the club involved. With all respect to Sunderland, and I quite like you guys, one bad performance won't see him benched forever. He'll have the opportunity to develop there and I hope he rewards you with many goals.
I agree with the positives said of Niklas Bendtner who as discussed above and before has scored some very important goals for us. The first of these which I recall was the one in the dying seconds of our home match with Villa back in 2008. He should have more starting opportunities with Sunderland and thus flourish. Then we can all see the player that he is. He is entitled to this opportunity so loaning him was good all round.
I know we all find it funny to mock Stokes play but why do we call them a rugby side? I've never seen Johnny Wilkinson boot a ball up the pitch and have one of the wingers chase after it before heading it over the posts (much as that would be one of the funniest things you could see on a sports field.). Bendtner would've done well at Stoke or Sunderland, and i reckon Brucey's got a good player on his hands.
