Good performance. Bad defending cost us a point. We deserved a point based on our performance but if you defend like we did then you're going to need multiple goals to get anything. But add Vestergaard into the back 4 and Elyounoussi to our attack we've got the makings of a good side. Ings is going to make a huge difference to our attack.
People need to lower their expectations if you think losing 2-1 to a team as free spending as Everton is ****.
Good things about today. We won't see Mason for eight games. Ings off the mark. Vardy missing next week. Tom is our most positive poster.
I’ll still take it. We redeemed ourselves a bit second half. Although my expectations for this team are not that high. We didn’t look like easy relegation fodder. That’s good enough for me.
Defensively we were really poor in the first half but certainly not performance. The whole match was end to end with chances at both ends. Referee didn't help our cause either.
Funny game. Some poor performances away to a strong team, yet in the end we had chances to get something but it petered out towards the end with no balance in the side. I think there are some positives from today though and we have so much more attacking threat than last year.
If Vestergaard played than we wouldn't have lost IMO and how the hell do Lemina and Romeu keep getting picked ahead of Pierre?, he is far more consistant a performer than both of them.
We were in the game for the whole match even at 2-0 down, too many games last season we knew the result long before the end.
Agree to disagree, I thought we were really poor first half. Second to every ball, no fight in midfield. No clue in possession. But as I said, we upped it in the second half.
Despite not winning yet I think we will be just fine. I personally don’t think we will win our first game until the Brighton match, though with Vardy out for Leicester I’m slightly more confident. If we were near the end of the season I’d worry. But we have 36 games left. And a striker that can score.
Everton are a good side. I think you're being a tad harsh but that's only my opinion. I'm just pleased at how much better our attacking is compared to the complete dross under Pellegrino last season. Redmond looks more confident, Ings is a goalscorer and he works hard to make himself available.
I think the frustrating part of today, is that Silva’s Everton look a lot like Saints of a few seasons ago - positive, high tempo, comfortable in possession. It’s hard to watch that, whilst we hoof balls aimlessly up to Long, and have calamity Hoedt at the back, no matter how the game panned out. Agree that we look much better than under Pellegrino though. At least we tried to attack
If we had played the whole game like the second half I wouldn’t feel so frustrated with that defeat. Even before the subs we looked better, and in Ings it looks like we have a genuine goal scorer. It will be interesting to see if Elyounoussi and Armstrong together with Ings and Gabbi can unlock defences. I thought Redmond had a really good game, as did Cedric.
I'm starting to agree with people's concerns about Jack at CB, he doesn't seem to be showing any improvement in that position despite my admiration for him as a footballer on the ball. back up as RB or CDM maybe his place in the squad.
Cedric and Prowse were good. Redmond showed flashes and was much better second half but would still rather see him on the right. he has some really good close control. Ings got in some really good positions and finally got his goal. Austin was largely anonymous. Romeu anonymous and Lemina dangerous. Dont want to see a CB partnership of Hoedt and Stephens. it just breeds mistakes. We look best when we press and have good numbers in midfield. If we lose the midfield with this team we will lose the game. it happened with the 3 at the back and the 4 up front in this game. I hope hughes has learned that.
